He expresses that he "very much regret[s] that there should be any difference between us" in this matter, and reviews the initial agreement in which he was to be paid 50weeklyformaterialcovering4to5columns.Simmsgoesontodetailhisgrievancesagainstthejournalandclosesbyrequestingaremittanceof50 weekly for material covering 4 to 5 columns. Simms goes on to detail his grievances against the journal and closes by requesting a remittance of 100 to settle the accounts between them. Simms was a prolific Southern writer who published poetry, essays, biographies, and articles, and novels including _The Yemassee. A Romance of Carolina_ published in 1835
