    Eulophophyllum Hebard, 1922 Hebard. 1922. Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philad. 74: 160 urn:lsid:Orthoptera.speciesfile.org:TaxonName:12499 Diagnosis.— The genus has a unique tegminal venation as discussed above. Apart from this it differs from Leptoderes by a more robust and in frontal view shorter head and by a rather short and stout pronotum, instead of an elongate pronotum with a laterally concave disc. The tibial tympana are conchate internally and are open on the external side. Apart from the tegminal venation and the modified hind tibiae, the two new species are notable for their color polymorphism comprising two color variants, (1) a variant with striking pink and red-brown body color, with wings and legs contrasting with the pastel green tegminal veins and other marks of the same color and (2) a uniform green variant so far only observed in males. Color pattern of E. thaumasium have been described as ochreous buff with yellowish pattern (Hebard 1922), but this description was based on a dead female specimen whose color would have altered after death.     Revision of the genus Letana Walker, 1869 (Grylloptera: Tettigonioidea: Phaneropteridae)

    AbstractThe Oriental genus Letana is fully revised. 22 species are recognised. Male and female abdominal terminalia, the phallus sclerite and the stridulatory apparatus of males are introduced as useful diagnostic characters. Keys for males and females to the species are included. L. brunneri (Krausze, 1904) and L. melanotis Bey-Bienko, 1956 become new synonyms of L. rubescens (StÅl, 1861). Nine new species are described: L. infurcata sp. n., L. bulbosa sp. n., L. megastridula sp. n., L. intermedia sp. n., L. bilobata sp. n., L. magna sp. n., L. digitata sp. n., L. emanueli sp. n., and L. gracilis sp. n. First descriptions are given for the female of L. recticercis Chopard &amp; Dreux and for the male of L. serricauda Ingrisch. The relations between the species are discussed on basis of the phallus sclerite. Faunistic data and distribution maps are added. </jats:sec

    Revision of the Lipotactinae, a new subfamily of Tettigonioidea (Ensifera)

    AbstractThe Oriental tettigonioid genera Lipotactes and Mortoniellus were formerly included in the Australian subfamily Tympanophorinae. The genera however differ from Tympanophora by the tuberculate thoracic sterna, the small thoracic auditory spiracle, the compressed protibia, the spination of pro- and mesotibiae, the shape of the pronotum, and the possession of styli on the male subgenital plate. The erection of a new subfamily, Lipotactinae, is proposed to include Lipotactes and Mortoniellus. Mortoniellus is retained as a valid genus, but its differences from Lipotactes are redefined. The genera differ in the shape of the frons, the position of the fastigium verticis and the sculpturation of the pronotum. The species are revised. L. hamatus (Karny, 1931) comb. n. and L. sinicus (Bei-Bienko, 1959) comb. n. are transferred to Lipotactes, M. azuriventer (Karny, 1924) comb. n. to Mortoniellus, M. concolor Kästner, 1933 stat. n. is upgraded to species level, M. chopardi Zeuner, 1936 syn. n. becomes a new synonym of M. karnyi Griffini, 1909. Eight species are new to science: L. siebersi sp. n., L. virescens sp. n., L. longicauda sp. n., L. minutus sp. n., L. sulcatus sp. n., M. ovatus sp. n., M. macrognathus sp. n. and M. parvus sp. n. As a result, Lipotactes contains now 14, Mortoniellus 7 species. A key to the species and a distribution map is given. Information on stridulation of some of the species is also provided. </jats:sec

    The genera Velarifictorus, Modicogryllus and Mitius in Thailand (Ensifera: Gryllidae, Gryllinae)

    AbstractA report on the species of the genera Velarifictorus, Modicogryllus and Mitius (Gryllidae, Gryllinae, Modicogryllini) from Thailand as conserved in the Zoological Museum Copenhagen, the Department of Agriculture Bangkok, and the authors collection is given. The collection comprised 16 species of Velarifictorus of which 15 are new to science (V. acutilobus, V. angustus, V. bicornis, V. bulbosus, V. confinius, V. gradifrons, V. horridus, V. minoculus, V modicoides, V. pui, V rectus, V. spinosus, V. sulcifrons, V. tenepalpus, V. triangularis) and one species, V. aspersus (Walker, 1869), is widespread in the Indo-Malayan region. Of the genus Modicogryllus, three species were found, M. consobrinus (Saussure, 1877), M. siamensis Chopard, 1961, and M. semiobscurus (Chopard, 1969). Previous authors often misidentified two of them making the following nomenclatorial corrections necessary: M. confirmatus Walker, 1859 is redescribed from the holotype; records from outside Sri Lanka should be verified. M. consobrinus (Saussure, 1877) is re-established as a valid species with the following synonyms: Gryllus lineiceps Walker, 1871 (= junior homonym of G. lineiceps Walker, 1869), Gryllus walkeri Chopard, 1961. A male from Teinzo (Burma) is fixed as lectotype. The following taxa become new synonyms of M. siamensis Chopard, 1961: M. confirmatus Bhowmik, 1977 (nec Walker, 1859), M. confirmatus Vasanth 1993 (nec Walker, 1859), M. pacificus Otte, 1994b. The genus Mitius is represented with two species, M. enatus Gorochov, 1994 and M. castaneus (Chopard, 1937). Information on stridulation of some Velarifictorus and Mitius species is given. The time pattern of stridulation of Mitius species is composed of diplo-pulses instead of single pulses as in other Gryllinae. </jats:sec
