A Review of Zhan Wang\u27s New Works

    No full text
Jiang Jiantao wrote this essay about Zhan Wang in Chinese, published in Art Research, issue 1, 1995, and an English translation as included in the document. The author discusses Zhan Wang\u27s Kong Ling· Kong (literally mean ethereal: void ) exhibition, held from May 19th to May 23rd, 1994, at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum. The author begins to illustrate the structure of the show. The artists created eighteen pieces of floating clothes, which appear being worn but the bodies are absent. The author emphasized the exhibition\u27s significance in terms of modern human life. Then it was discussed how the artist is inspired by different artists, from a variety of time periods and cultures, and how the artist injects his own artistic language and aspiration into his works. The Unity of Destruction and Construction

Liu Xiaochun\u27s critique, published on Art Currents, issue 1, 1995, of the group show Sculpture 1994 featured five sculptors. Zhan Wang was one of them. The authors discussed Zhan Wang\u27s work Temptation, made of clothes, linen and glue, and examined the aesthetics and philosophical thought contained within. The author considers this show as the result of the destruction and reconstruction of classical sculpture, which is then combined with Avant-Garde sculpture. In Zhan Wang’s case, the contorted garments embodies his classical sculpture education but the language he used, the message to convey, is reconstructed into Avant-Garde sculpture. This review by Yin Shuangxi covered the show Sculpture 1994 , which is a group show with five sculptors. Zhan Wang was one of them. The authors discussed Zhan Wang\u27s piece, Kong Ling· Kong (literally means ethereal: void ) and analyzed the aesthetics and philosophical thinking embodied within. Then, the author went from discussion of specific pieces to general conditions of Chinese sculpture conditions and the problems that sculptors were facing. In this review, the author Tian Kong gave a brief overview of Beijing Sculptors, including Zhan Wang, in 1992. He claimed that they are at the frontier of cultural communication, but they are also receiving systematic training in classical sculpting. Thus, they have not only an advantage in expertise, but also in artistic language and concepts. Then, the author went on to introduce prominent sculptors in detail. Well-posedness of phase-lock equations of superconductivity

AbstractIn this article we give an affirmative answer to an open question raised in [M. Zhan, Phase-lock equations and its connections to Ginzburg–Landau equations of superconductivity, J. Nonlinear Anal. 42 (2000) 1063–1075]. There, the author introduced the phase-lock equations to model superconductivity phenomena. We showed that the phase-lock equations have unique solutions with L2 initial data for space dimensions n=2,3

Time-specific litho- and biofacies often holds important information about unique ancient ecosystems that no longer exist on Earth today. This report summarizes one of such time-specific facies-the 3-D network structure of the Upper Ordovician Pagoda Formation in South China, as investigated by Zhan et al. (Palaeogeography, Palaeocli-matology, Palaeoecology, DOI:10.1016/j.palaeo.2015.07.039).supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the State Key Laboratory of Palaeobiology and Stratigraphy (LPS)SCI(E)中文核心期刊要目总览(PKU)中国科技核心期刊(ISTIC)中国科学引文数据库(CSCD)[email protected]

Convergence of Dirichlet quotients and selective decay of 2D magnetohydrodynamic flows

AbstractThe selective decay phenomena have been observed by physicists for many dynamic flows such as Navier–Stokes flows, barotropic geophysical flows, and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows in either actual physical experiments or numerical simulations. In the previous paper (M.-Q. Zhan, 2010 [20]), the author showed the validity of the selective decay principle for the 2D magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows in the case of small magnetic Prandtl number. In this paper, we shall show the validity of the selective decay principle for the 2D magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows for any magnetic Prandtl number with periodic boundary conditions
