Activities recognition and worker profiling in the intelligent office environment using a fuzzy finite state machine
No full textAnalysis of the office workers’ activities of daily working in an intelligent office environment can be used to optimize energy consumption and also office workers’ comfort. To achieve this end, it is essential to recognise office workers’ activities including short breaks, meetings and non-computer activities to allow an optimum control strategy to be implemented. In this paper, fuzzy finite state machines are used to model an office worker’s behaviour. The model will incorporate sensory data collected from the environment as the input and some pre-defined fuzzy states are used to develop the model. Experimental results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach. The activity models of different individual workers as inferred from the sensory devices can be distinguished. However, further investigation is required to create a more complete model

No full textCang Icang\u27s poem appeared since the founding of the Kayuagung area. However, in reality these poems are rarely used by the people of Kayuagung, especially the Cang Icang poem. This is because one by one the old speakers die. While the younger generation is less interested in learning and using it. The purpose of this study is to describe the inner structure contained in the old Cang-Incang poem in the oral literature of Kayuagung. The author uses a descriptive method with qualitative data aimed at describing the inner structure in the old Cang-Icang poem in Kayuagung oral literature. The techniques used to obtain and collect research data are recording techniques, listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The Cang-Incang poem is a poem consisting of four lines in each stanza, the first and second stanzas are appendices while the third and fourth stanzas are content, each stanza has a relationship between stanzas. The inner structure in Cang-Incang\u27s poetry contains several themes including divinity and humanity, feelings in Cang-Incang\u27s poetry where the poet\u27s feelings are sad and happy, the tone and atmosphere of the poet tries to advise and forget the poet\u27s mood, and the message implied in the contents of the poem. Cang-Incang advice. Cang-Incang in the oral literature of Kayuagung obtained five Cang-Incang poems from five informants, the research finding data are as follows: (1) Cang-Incang\u27s poem "remember and surrender to God\u27s greatness", (2) Cang-Incang\u27s poem "quipped at a child who forgetting the love of parents", (3) Cang-Incang\u27s poem "pours out sad feelings because he feels unloved by his mother", (4) Cang-Incang\u27s poem "expresses feelings or desires of the heart", (5) Cang-Incang\u27s poem "entertains yourself at work.

Resilience of the Internet of Things (IoT) from an Information Assurance (IA) Perspective
No full textInternet infrastructure developments and the rise of the IoT Socio-Technical Systems (STS) have frequently generated more unsecure protocols to facilitate the rapid intercommunication between the plethoras of IoT devices. Whereas, current development of the IoT has been mainly focused on enabling and effectively meeting the functionality requirement of digital-enabled enterprises we have seen scant regard to their IA architecture, marginalizing system resilience with blatant afterthoughts to cyber defence. Whilst interconnected IoT devices do facilitate and expand information sharing; they further increase of risk exposure and potential loss of trust to their Socio-Technical Systems. A change in the IoT paradigm is needed to enable a security-first mind-set; if the trusted sharing of information built upon dependable resilient growth of IoT is to be established and maintained. We argue that Information Assurance is paramount to the success of IoT, specifically its resilience and dependability to continue its safe support for our digital economy
