Professor Mahmoud Shojaei (1925–2018), Memorial letter
Prof. Mahmoud Shojaei, a prestigious professor of entomology at Tehran University and Islamic Azad University, passed away at 93 on November 25, 2018. Prof. Shojaei's contribution to entomology was profound and enduring, 63 years of teaching and research. He was former Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tehran and manager of Jalal Afshar's Zoological Museum, at Karaj campus of the University of Tehran
Common Fixed Point in Cone Metric Space for -contractive
Huang and Zhang cite{Huang} have introduced the concept of cone metric space where the set of real numbers is replaced by an ordered Banach space. Shojaei cite{shojaei} has obtained points of coincidence and common fixed points for s-Contraction mappings which satisfy generalized contractive type conditions in a complete cone metric space. In this paper, the notion of complete cone metric space has been introduced. We have defined -contractive and obtained common fixed point theorem for a mapping which satisfies -contractive

Robust Control of Three-Dimensional Compliant Mechanisms
Position control and vibration damping of flexible-link mechanisms are still challenging
open issues in robotics. Finding solutions for these problems can lead to improvement in
the operation and accuracy of the manipulators. In this paper, the synthesis of robust
controllers based on H_inf loop shaping and my-synthesis for both position control and
vibration damping in a spatial flexible L-shape mechanism with gravity is presented. The
design of the controllers is based on the evaluation of an uncertainty model which takes
into account a +-20% uncertainty in the elasticity and mass density of the links. The
response of each controller is tested also in the presence of external disturbances with
the aid of highly accurate numerical simulations; furthermore, a comparison between the
robust performances of synthesized controllers is presented in order to show the effectiveness
of synthesized control systems
An adaptive mesh-free approach for dynamic failure analysis
In this paper a novel mesh-free method by a simple coupling between the finite point method (FPM) and a mesh-free Peridynamic method is introduced. In this method, the solution domain is mainly discretized by FPM points at the beginning of the analysis; FPM produces results with lower computational cost compared to a Peridynamic-only model. Then as the analysis progresses in time, FPM points can change to Peridynamic points in the parts where there is a possibility of crack nucleation or propagation. In this way, the approach benefits from the full advantages of both methods by using an adaptive partitioning of the solution domain, and it restricts the Peridynamic solution only to necessary parts
