A tool for rapid development of WS-BPEL applications
We present BliteC, a software tool we have developed for supporting a rapid and easy development of WS-BPEL applications. BliteC translates service orchestrations written in Blite, a formal language inspired to but simpler than WS-BPEL, into executable WS-BPEL programs. We illustrate our approach by means of an example borrowed from the official specification of WS-BPEL

Improving performance of organic solar cells using amorphous tungsten oxides as an interfacial buffer layer on transparent anodes
Thermally evaporated tungsten oxide (WO(3)) films are investigated as a buffer layer on anodes to improve the performance of bulk-heterojunction solar cells based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl C(61) butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM-60). Characterization of the WO(3) film under study shows that it is amorphous with the conductivity on the order of 10(-6) S/cm and can effectively planarize an originally rough ITO surface down to the RMS roughness of 0.88 nm. Insertion of 5-30 nm-thick WO(3) layers resulted in power conversion efficiency and fill factor as high as 3.1% and 0.70, respectively, showing an improvement with a good batch-to-batch consistency over conventional cells. The observed improvement is related mainly to the relatively large shunt resistance Of WO(3)-based cells under illumination that is linked to a low carrier recombination resulting in high fill factor and open-circuit voltage. Simplified Vector Potential and Circuit Equivalent Model for a Normal-Mode Helical Antenna
A normal-mode helical antenna with open-ended and center-fed configurations is investigated. The investigation is twofold. First, explicit formulas are derived by employing the vector potential with the triangular current distribution for a normal-mode helical antenna. These give straightforward results when compared to previous numerical analysis. Second, the equivalent circuit model is proposed to obtain the input impedance. The proposed equivalent circuit model consists of a parasitic capacitance, an effective self-capacitance, an effective inductance, and a radiation resistance in a series combination. The radiation characteristics are compared to the commercial simulation to verify whether the obtained formulas and the equivalent circuit model achieve a good agreement.X1145sciescopu
Can models of author intention support quality assessment of content?
Academics seek to find, understand and critically review the work of other researchers through published scientific articles. In recent years, the volume of available information has significantly increased, partly due to technological advancements and partly due to pressures on academics to 'publish or perish'. This amount of papers presents a challenge not only for the peer-review process but also for readers, particularly inexperienced readers, to find publications of high quality. Whilst one might rely on citation or journal rankings to help guide this decision, this approach may not be completely reliable due to biased peer-review processes and the fact that the citation count of an article does not per se indicate its quality. Here, we analyse how expected author intentions in a Related Work section can be used to indicate its quality. We show that author intentions can predict the quality with reasonable accuracy and propose that similar approaches could be used in other sections to provide an overall picture of quality. This approach could be useful in supporting peer-review processes and for a reader in prioritising articles to read. © 2019 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.Peer reviewe

Fabrication of ridge waveguides by UV embossing and stamping of sol-gel hybrid materials
Multimode large core (45 x 35 mum(2)) optical ridge waveguides are fabricated in the room temperature by ultraviolet (UV) imprinting of soft rubber template with the organic-inorganic sol-gel hybrid materials. The fabrication processes may be either well-known UV embossing or stamping. A new sol-gel hybrid material that is thermally stable has been developed for the fabrication of low-loss optical waveguides. The UV curable methacrylic sol-gel hybrid material is used for the core layer and fluorinated methacrylic sol-gel hybrid material is used for the cladding layer. The optical propagation loss of fabricated waveguide measured by the cutback method is 0.36 dB/cm at 850 nm and the surface roughness of waveguide is about 5 Angstrom root mean square
