Thomas Sheehy (1840-1913) was a solicitor, barrister and proctor of Collins Street, Hobart. He was a younger son of John and Ellen Sheehy of Hobart and in 1860 was articled to his brother Stephen (d. 1879), a solicitor, and was admitted in 1865. As a member of a leading Catholic family and brother of a priest, Thomas Sheehy had many Catholics among his clients. His business records include a letter book, diaries noting consultations and actions taken, drafts of documents, notes and apprenticeship indentures

Interview of Edward J. Sheehy, F.S.C., Ph.D.
Edward J. Sheehy was born in 1946 to Edward and Rosemary Sheehy. His father was a naval commander and later the head of an aerospace company called Hercules. He entered the novitiate of the Christian Brothers in 1963, received his undergraduate degree in history from La Salle College in 1968, his Master of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University in 1973, and his Ph.D. in History from George Washington University in 1983. He worked at St. Gabriel\u27s Hall, Calvert College High School, Hudson Catholic High School, Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA, and La Salle University. A specialist on U.S. naval history, he is a professor in the History Department of La Salle University and Vice President of the Corporation. His honors include the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Dr. Roland Holroyd Award for contributions made to the community

Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington (1877-1946)
Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington died on the 20th April 1946 and
this year marks the 70th anniversary of her death. She was
born in Kanturk, Co. Cork but the family moved to
Drumcondra, Dublin in 1887 and Hanna attended the
Dominican Convent in Eccles Street. She was a bright
student and was one of the few women at the time to receive
a third level education. She graduated with a degree and
later an MA in 1902. She became a teacher in Eccles Street
and also lectured in Rathmines School of Commerce
