This master's thesis consists of a Czech language translation and commentary for selected chapters of Dans l'enfer des tournantes, an autobiography by Samira Bellil, a French author of Algerian descent. The commentary is divided into two parts: a presentation of literature written by French authors of Maghrebi descent, the so-called beurs, the language they use in literature and reception of their works; and an analysis of the source text and its reception, the problems encountered during the process of translation and their solutions as well as the chosen translation method. Social media and the Arab Spring
In late of 2010 and during 2011, the Arab countries saw a series of large scale political uprisings. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other forms of social media have played a major role in the planning, acceleration, and even the preparation of some of the uprisings and revolutions that too place in the Middle East at this time. Social media was employed effectively to awaken the Arab people and to mobilize them to fight against repressive regimes in their drive for greater freedom and independence. This paper will discuss the cause of the uprisings. Expression and Functional Analysis of Profilin Genes (pfn1/2a/2b) during Early Embryonic Development of Zebrafish
The profilin family of small actin-binding proteins are an ancient and widespread group of proteins found across both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. These proteins primarily function in promoting actin polymerization, which is essential for cell shape maintenance, movement, and division. Disruption of profilin function is associated with various pathologies including spinal muscular atrophy, diabetes, vascular hypertrophy, and hypertension. Zebrafish possess four paralogous profilins genes (zpfn1, zpfn2a, zpfn2b, zpfn4), whose roles during embryonic development remain only partially known. This study aimed to investigate the expression patterns and functional roles of pfn1/2a/2b isoforms during zebrafish embryogenesis. Using RT-PCR, in-situ hybridization, mRNA overexpression, morpholino-mediated knockdown, and CRISPR-Cas9 knockout approaches, we characterized these profilin gene paralogs. RT-PCR analysis revealed that pfn1/2a/2b are expressed throughout the early developmental stages. In-situ hybridization demonstrated that pfn2a/2b expression is restricted to the brain region. For pfn1, overexpression and CRISPR-Ca9 knockout experiments showed no detectable phenotypic changes during embryonic development. Similarly, pfn2a overexpression and morpholino knockdown produced no phenotypic alterations during development. Future investigations will extend to pfn2b and pfn4 to provide a comprehensive understanding of profilin isoform functions. This research contributes to elucidating the roles of profilin genes during vertebrate embryogenesis and enables comparative analysis of isoform-specific functions across vertebrate species

The report defines the approaches that I have followed in implementation the strategies while writing proposals for, supreme and privilege banking customers SOL (branch) identity number, premium banking credit card distribution, branch banking activities, premium and supreme banking gift delivery mechanisms through merchants and lifestyle.
Simultaneously, it is worth mentioning about the knowledge that I have gained and tried to involve them with every activities. I have tried to outline what I have learned from the whole process of involvement and embraced it with my personal observations and opinions.
This internship has enhanced my technical skills and interpersonal skills more widely than before. Also I believe, it has promoted me into a new human being achieving lots of personal developments including strong interpersonal and communication skills. The report includes statements regarding my expectation versus experience and how my expectations fully supported me to make a very good set of memory. The Poetics of Textual Thresholds in Ahcene El-Kharrat’s Collections of Poetry
Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the poetics of textual thresholds in the poetry of Ahcene El-Kharrat (1989-2019), to query their various dimensions, connotations and artistic features, based on the assumption that contemporary poetic text is no longer just a set of poems nicely written and collected in a book, but rather a mosaic of written texts, para (meta) texts, and thresholds related to their hypertext. The thresholds’ role is vital. Its importance cannot be ignored while formulating the general poetic context of the poem. The latter cannot reach completeness without its textual thresholds that opens up new poetic and artistic perspectives. We will shed light, in this analytical and intertextual research, on the thresholds of the poems in the collections of the Algerian poet Ahcene El-Kharrat entitled: Nabdh-al-faji’a (Pulse of Bereavement), Basar Al-Turab (Sight of the earth) and Shatah Al-darawishes (the Dervishes’ imagination).

Electron–hole superfluidity in strained Si/Ge type II heterojunctions
Excitons are promising candidates for generating superfluidity and Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC) in solid-state devices, but an enabling material platform with in-built band structure advantages and scaling compatibility with industrial semiconductor technology is lacking. Here we predict that spatially indirect excitons in a lattice-matched strained Si/Ge bilayer embedded into a germanium-rich SiGe crystal would lead to observable mass-imbalanced electron–hole superfluidity and BEC. Holes would be confined in a compressively strained Ge quantum well and electrons in a lattice-matched tensile strained Si quantum well. We envision a device architecture that does not require an insulating barrier at the Si/Ge interface, since this interface offers a type II band alignment. Thus the electrons and holes can be kept very close but strictly separate, strengthening the electron–hole pairing attraction while preventing fast electron–hole recombination. The band alignment also allows a one-step procedure for making independent contacts to the electron and hole layers, overcoming a significant obstacle to device fabrication. We predict superfluidity at experimentally accessible temperatures of a few Kelvin and carrier densities up to ~6 × 1010 cm−2, while the large imbalance of the electron and hole effective masses can lead to exotic superfluid phases.QCD/Scappucci La

For this purpose, the ZIF-11 particles were analysed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. In batch experiments, the effective BCG adsorption parameters onto ZIF-11 particles were exam-ined. Based on the characterization results, the synthesized ZIF-11 showed a highly porous, irreg-ular, and inhomogeneous shapes and crystals with varying sizes as well as high thermal stability. The adsorption results indicated that the highest BCG removal (89%) was obtained when the solu-tion pH, the stirring speed, the contact time, and the temperature were adjusted to 6.8, 400rpm,30min, and 298K, respectively. The adsorption data fitted well to Langmuir and Temkin mod-els with maximum adsorption capacity of 150mg/g.The adsorption kinetics was compatible with the pseudo-second-order and the intraparticle diffusion models. Indeed, BCG molecules instanta-neously adsorbed on the external surface of ZIF-11 particles and gradually diffused within theirs pores. The negative value of free energy change and positive values of enthalpy and entropy changes showed the feasibility, randomness, and endothermicity of the BCG adsorption process, which was found to be physicochemical base
A redesign and implementation plan of the Oog voor Naasten en Nabestaanden toolkit for the LUMC
Research shows family caregivers involved in palliative care are not yet supported to the desired extent. Therefore, the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) started the Oog voor Naasten en Nabestaanden (ON2) project, a Palliantieproject financed by ZonMw. The ON2 project helps healthcare organizations with improving the care for family caregivers in their organization. Currently, the LUMC supports organizations in setting up and carrying out their projects. From 2024 onwards, organizations need to independently use the ON2 toolkit 3.0 to set up their own projects. However, the current ON2 toolkit 2.0 is not guiding and supporting enough for organizations to use it without any external support. The aim of this graduation project is to create a redesign of the ON2 toolkit 2.0 that supports and guides users throughout the new ON2 trajectory 3.0. Qualitative research is conducted with six healthcare organizations, to map the current ON2 trajectory 2.0, the available support and experiences of participants. The qualitative research indicates that project teams of different healthcare settings express a preference for compact and visual information, support when orientating and setting up their projects, and a well-structured ON2 toolkit 3.0. Moreover, the willingness of healthcare professionals to provide care to family caregivers plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of ON2.A desired vision was formulated and used as starting point for the ideation and conceptualization phase. The vision aims at increasing the awareness of healthcare professionals on the added values of ON2 for themselves and making the redesign more accessible, guiding, supportive, inspiring and user-friendly. The final concept of the ON2 toolkit 3.0 has four main features. Firstly, informing users about the ON2 trajectory 3.0. Secondly, providing the ON2 materials. Thirdly, inspiring users about the ON2 trajectory 3.0 by sharing experiences of participants. Lastly, creating a profile to independently perform the ON2 trajectory 3.0 and set up your own project. The final concept was tested on the basis of two qualitative interviews and a questionnaire (n=8). The target group was very positive about the concept and experienced the new toolkit as structured, intuitive, clear, user-friendly, visually pleasing, calm and inviting. A roadmap was created for the LUMC to further develop and realize the ON2 toolkit 3.0.Some limitations in this graduation project are the amount of users that were interviewed and involved in the test sessions, the concept is not tested with all healthcare settings and it was not feasible to test the concept in practice. Therefore, the concept cannot be guaranteed to be effective in every context and for independent use. It is recommended that the LUMC conducts test pilots with current and new organizations before launching the ON2 toolkit 3.0, and after the launch collects feedback from users to further optimize the toolkit. In addition, the LUMC should make clear agreements with stakeholders about the management and maintenance of the toolkit. Lastly, it is recommended to add content incrementally, starting with the most essential content and adding more content over time to make the toolkit more guiding and supportive. A 15-bit ΔΣ Capacitance-to-Digital Converter For Position Sensing with Electrically Floating Targets
This thesis presents a capacitive sensing technique which is suitable for measuring small displacements with one floating target electrode. A capacitive sensor interface, which does not require electrical contact with the target, while demonstrating performance comparable with the state-of-the-art, is proposed. The designed prototype is intended for displacement measurement with a measurement range from 10 µm to 100 µm, and a resolution better than 3 nm.The proposed design implants the sensor capacitor into the input branch of a capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC), which results in a simpler system that saves power and reduces the error sources.The CDC is taped out in the TSMC 0.18 µm CMOS process with Vdd = 1.8 V. The total chip area is 2.3 mm2 of which 0.5 mm2 is occupied by the CDC. In frequency range from DC to 2 kHz, the resolution of the CDC is thermal noise limited, whereas the quantization noise is shaped to higher frequency. After applying a low-pass digital filter with a bandwidth of 1 kHz, the dynamic range is better than 15 bits, corresponding to 3 nm displacement resolution
