Indian Literature and the World. Multilingualism, Translation and the Public Sphere
Indian Literature and the World is a collection of critical essays featuring up-to-date scholarship on the most vibrant yet under-studied aspects of Indian writing today. Multilingualism, current debates on postcolonial versus world literature, the impact of translation on an “Indian” literary canon, and Indian authors’ engagement with the public sphere all shape the orientation of our volume. The essays cover political activism and the North-East Tribal novel; the role of work in the contemporary Indian fictional imaginary; history as felt and reconceived by the acclaimed Hindi author Krishna Sobti; Bombay fictions; the Dalit autobiography in translation and its problematic international success; development, ecocriticism and activist literature; casteism and access to literacy in the South; gender and diaspora as dominant themes in writing from and about the subcontinent. Troubling Eurocentric genre distinctions and the split between citizen and subject, we wish to approach Indian literature from the perspective of its constant interactions between private and public narratives, thereby proposing a method of reading Indian texts that goes beyond their habitual postcolonial identifications as “national allegories”

Sectorial stable election protocol for wireless sensor network
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are gaining popularity in applications like,
defence, health monitoring and in agriculture etc. An efficiently design protocol
can provide higher throughput, better stability period and longer network
lifetime. In the similar context various protocols are proposed where much
emphasis is given on minimization of energy used for per transmitted bit. Most
of the designed protocols are based on two stages heterogeneous network
consisting of two kinds of nodesnormal and advanced. The initial energy of the
advanced nodes is higher in comparison to normal nodes. Generally, nodes form
clusters and cluster head is utilized for the purpose of transferring packets to base
station. Recently, stable election protocol (SEP) was proposed. In the case of
SEP, both normal as well as advance nodes contain weighted probability to
transform into cluster head. Advance nodes have more chances to be turned out
as cluster head in comparison to normal nodes. To further enhance the
performance of the protocol, Zonal-SEP is proposed, where field is divided into
zones. In this paper, it is shown that, the concept of zones can be further extended
into sectors and careful selection of sectors can further improves the performance
with same number of advance nodes
An enhanced-simple protocol for wireless body area networks
A Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) characterizes an independent
system that is used for the purpose of monitoring the daily routine activities of
an individual. It comprises of smart sensor nodes which do not have any kind of
adverse effect on the daily routine activities and are quite effective in the
detection of chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart attack, asthma etc.,
and to caution the person suffering from diseases in the case of an emergency
conditions. In this work, a wireless body area network routing protocol is
designed where distance of the sink from various nodes and residual energy of
the nodes decides the forwarding nodes to maximize the throughput. In this
work, all the sensors on the body will transfer data to sink node and sink node
will transmit data to base station or to the server. The simulation results will be
evaluated in terms of remaining energy, throughput and number of dead nodes.
The obtained results are also compared with recent published protocols and it
has been found that in comparison to SIMPLE and iM-SIMPLE, the proposed
protocol E2 (nomenclature used in the paper) has throughput higher than
12.46% and 6.7% respectively
A transmission control protocol for wireless sensor network.
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a hot area of research which is useful in countless applications in various fields of engineering and technology. In WSN wireless nodes are dispersed in a well confined area, and most of the times are static once they are deployed. These nodes are battery operated and their energy goes down as they transmit beacon or informative packets. In past many routing protocols are proposed which tries to minimize the energy dissipation by using various approaches. Till date in proposed protocols information is transmitted in each round, however in many applications such frequent information/update is not desirable, therefore to restrict transfer of packets in each round in this paper a transmission control protocol is proposed, where by varying the load, transfer of packets can be controlled, and this mechanism reduces the dissipation of energy and thus improves, stability period, network lifetime and throughput. The performance evaluation of the proposed scheme is done using MATLAB software and keys features of proposed protocol are highlighted along with simulation results
