A total of 100 secondary level school teachers from Jaipur district have been selected as a sample of the study. Result showed that Majority of the teachers were agreeing with the statement that online teaching is the only way to teach students during this pandemic. The pandemic COVID-19 has shut the door of schools worldwide leaving no choice behind. Thus, each one fined online teaching easily accessible. It was found that online teaching is not an easy way to teach. There are so many technical (signal problem, availability of smart phone, electricity problem, knowledge of handling the apps as well as devices etc.) and psychological issues (non- interaction with all students, remedial teaching is not possible, speed of content delivery, lack of concentration etc.) faced by teachers and students as well
The Net Promoter Score with Friends and Family Test applied to arthroscopic shoulder surgery
Get PDFBackground The Friends and Family Test (FFT) developed by the UK National Health Service evaluates whether patients are satisfied with a service provided, where improvements are needed, and how likely patients are to recommend the intervention. Calculated from the FFT, the Net Promoter Score (NPS) creates a recommendation metric for treatment. The primary aim of this prospective study is to evaluate NPS for arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD) and rotator cuff repair (RCR). Secondary aims are to postoperatively evaluate 1-year changes in patients’ Oxford Shoulder Scores (OSSs) in terms of the proportion of patients satisfied with their surgery and correlation with FFT. Methods During a 2-year period, all patients undergoing ASD or RCR completed questionnaires prospectively. Collected preoperatively and postoperatively at 1 year. Results NPSs were 31 for ASD (n=32) and 52 for RCR (n=39). OSSs increased by 4.3 and 6.9 for ASD and RCR, respectively (P<0.001). Overall, 75% of ASD and 77% of RCR patients were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied,” respectively, with procedure outcomes. Scores from FFT had a positive correlation with improvement in OSS and satisfaction scores among patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgeries (P<0.001). Conclusions The current study shows positive NPS outcomes in patients with ASD and RCR. Scores from FFT correlate well with both satisfaction and OSS among patients. NPS can be an adjunct to traditional patient-reported outcome measures to provide global evaluation of patient experiences to aid in determining the clinical value of common procedures in shoulder orthopaedics. Quality of Life and Hopelessness among Adolescent Rag Pickers of Delhi, India
No full textAbstract Rag pickers are marginalized section of our society. India grappling the problem of shelter particularly in the urban societies besides other socio economic problems likes other Asian countries. Children living and working on streets are bound to adopt substandard life style due to lack of basic facilities. As results their quality of life includes physical health, social and psychological functioning severely destabilized and tends to develop sense of insecurity, hopelessness, depression, anxiety etc. Therefore, the study was conducted on the adolescents engaged in rag picking on the streets of Delhi to measure their quality of life and its impact on future perspective thinking. For that purpose sixty rag pickers were taken incidentally from different localities of Delhi. The participants of were male and between the age range of 12 -18 engaged in rag picking. Sixty adolescents not engaged in rag picking and living with the parents were also taken from the same locality. WHOQOL-BREF and Beck hopelessness scales (BHS) were administered on both the groups of participants to assess their quality of life and sense of hopelessness. The finding suggested that rag picker adolescents were found suffering from significantly poor quality of life as well as higher degree of hopelessness. Findings further indicated negative relationship between quality of life and sense of hopelessness
A REVIEW ON PSYCHOSIS AND ANTI-PSYCHOTIC PLANTS
Get PDFPsychosis (schizophrenic, schizoaffective, and affective illnesses) is a group of serious illnesses that affect the mind. About 1 % of the population suffers from psychosis worldwide and increases for those, whose closer family member have suffered with the disorder. Common symptoms of psychosis are hallucinations, delusions, flat affect, forgetfulness, alogia, avolition, and anhedonia. Currently available marketed drugs like chlorpromazine, haloperidol, clozapine, risperidone, and olanzapine have some serious adverse effects such as dizziness, diabetes, weight gain, tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, sexual dysfunction, agitation, and sedation. There is no satisfactory remedy available for prevention and management of psychosis. Therefore, the demand for herbal medicine is increasing. This article collects the information about the possible plants and dietary supplements to improve symptoms of psychosis with no side effect. The present review discusses about anti-psychotic plants, its biological source, common name, and other biological activities, which are helpful for researchers to development new anti-psychotic herbal formulations
