    The Effectiveness Of Make A Match Strategy On Students' Reading Comprehension At SMAN 1 Jenangan

Advisor, Dr. Tintin Susilowati, M.Pd Keywords: Make a Match Strategy, Reading Comprehension, Descriptive Text Nowadays, learning in the field shows that the teacher is still unable to create innovative learning, makes students active, and creates a fun learning process. This is what makes students bored in the learning process. So it is necessary to make improvements in the implementation of learning strategy for the increased learning outcomes of students and to optimize all student skill especially in reading comprehension. There is Make a Match strategy that can be applied in teaching reading and improve the students’ reading comprehension. Make a Match strategy is cooperative learning that providing cards as the media. In this technique, students have to find their partner while learning a concept or a particular topic in an interesting classroom atmosphere. By using this technique, the teaching learning process became more fun and active. The purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness of Make a Macth Strategy on the students Reading comprehension at SMAN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo, whether students who taught using Make a Match Strategy or students who not taught using Make a Match Strategy. The research used quasi-experimental design. The population in this research were the tenth grade students at SMAN 1 Jenangan, totaling 45 students. The sample was taken by Simple Random Sampling technique and the total number of samples was 22 students. The data collection technique in this research was using subjective test to gain the students achievement in reading comprehension. To determine the effectiveness of Make a Match Strategy on students’ reading comprehension the researcher using paired sample T-test technique. The results of the post-test showed that the average value of the experimental class that was given treatment by using the Make a Match strategy was higher than the control class that was taught by using conventional media (82.18 > 64.18). It means there is a significant improvement in experimental class scores compared to control class scores. The results of the hypothesis test also showed that the value of sig. (2-tailed) is under 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), it means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of the Make a Match Strategy has a significant effect to improve the student’s reading comprehension of descriptive text at tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Jenangan

    ABSTRAK Setiawan, Agus. 2018. Analisis Framing Media Massa Dalam Pemberitaan Terorisme Periode 09-17 Mei 2018. Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi di Fakultas Sosial Dan politik Universitas Islam Majapahit (UNIM). Banyak media cetak yang memberitakan mengenai rentetan penyerangan teroris di Surabaya dan serangan di Mako Brimob. Salah satu media cetak yang setia memberitakan kejadian tersebut adalah surat kabar jawapos dan kompas. Apabila suatu media menaruh sebuah kasus sebagai headline diasumsikan kasus itu pasti memperoleh perhatian yang besar dari khalayak. Ini tentu berbeda jika, misalnya kasus tersebut dimuat di halaman dalam. Faktanya, konsumen media jarang memperbincangkan kasus yang tidak dimuat oleh media. Salah satu metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui proses dimana media mengkonstruksi realitas yang ada adalah analisis framing. Analisis framing dipakai untuk mengetahui bagaimana realitas dibingkai oleh media. Dengan demikian realitas sosial dipahami, dimaknai, dan dikonstruksi dengan bentukan dan makna tertentu. Dalam perspektif komunikasi, analisis framing dipakai untuk membedah cara-cara atau ideologi media saat mengkonstruksi fakta. Analisis ini mencermati strategi penonjolan, dan pertautan fakta ke dalam berita agar lebih bermakna, lebih menarik, lebih berarti atau lebih diingat, untuk menggiring interpretasi khalayak sesuai perspektifnya. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini yaitu framing media massa dalam pemberitaan terorisme periode 09-17 Mei 2018. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah media masaa atau koran jawapos dan kompas. Framing pemberitaan pada harian jawa pos dan kompas sudah disesuaikan dengan unsur framing dalam penyajian berita. Perbedaan pembingkaian berita yang disampaikan oleh harian jawa pos dan kompas yaitu pemaknaan terorisme dimana pada jawa pos terorisme dianggap sebagai tindakan kejahatan kemanusiaan sedangkan kompas menganggap terorisme sebagai tindakan radikalisme yang menebarkan kebencian. framing yang ditunjukkan dari harian jawa pos dan kompas berbeda. Jawa pos lebih melengkapi unsur framing pemberitaan yang disajikan daripada harian kompas. Kedua harian tersebut juga mengkonstruksi terorisme sebagai kejahatan terhadap kemanusiaan, konstruksi terorisme sebagai aksi radikalisme, konstruksi komitmen pemerintah memberantas aksi terorisme. Jawa Pos dan Kompas memaknai berita kasus terorisme yang terjadi pada bulan Mei 2018 sebagai masalah hukum yang berkaitan dengan kejahatan terhadap kemanusiaan serta aksi radikalisme. Perbedaan framing media terletak pada makna paham terorisme dimana jawa pos menyatakan terorisme dianggap sebagai tindakan kejahatan kemanusiaan sedangkan kompas menganggap terorisme sebagai tindakan radikalisme yang menebarkan kebencian.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Penelitian ini membahas tentang upaya yang dilakukan oleh tenaga pendidik dalam mengembangkan model kecerdasan ganda (multiple intelligensi) dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengembangan Multiple Intelligence siswa di MAN 1 Mojokerto, terutama dalam mata pelajaran PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam). Rumusan Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana jenis-jenis kecerdasan ganda dikembangkan di MAN 1 Mojokerto. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, teknik pengumpulan data dalam penlitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Multiple Intelligence atau Teori Kecerdasan Majemuk sebagai landasan analisan dan pembahasan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Jenis kecedasan yang dikembangkan di MAN 1 Mojokerto dilakukan berdasarkan standard penilaian yang terdapat pada kurikulum madrasah sesuai dengan panduan BNSP yang meliputi 3 aspek penilaian yaitu; aspek kognitif, aspek afektif dan aspek psikomotorik yang meliputi 7 (tujuh) jenis kecerdasan yaitu; kecerdasan linguistik, kecerdasan logis matematik, kecerdasan visual spasial, kecerdasan intrapersonal, kecerdasan intrapersonal, kecerdasan naturalis, kecerdasan eksistensial. Yang diimplementasikan melalui kegiatan belajar dalam kelas seperti; penyampaian materi, diskusi, tanya jawab, ujian lisan dan ujian praktek. Kegiatan pendukung pengembangan kecerdasan ganda di MAN 1 Mojokerto dapat dilakukan pada kegiatan ekstrakulilkuler di sekolah untuk mengembangkan jenis-jenis kecerdasan tertentu, seperti; kecerdasan musical yang dapat dikembangkan melaui ekstrakulikuler drumband atau paduan suara dan kecerdasan kinertik-jasmani yang dapat dikembangkan melalui kegiatan ekstrakulikuler PBB atau Pelatihan Baris Berbaris atau volly. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 7 (tujuh) kecerdasan pokok yang menjadi fokus utama pengembangan kecerdasan di MAN 1 Mojokerto, hal ini didasakan pada standard penilaian yang menjadi acuan dalam kurikulum madrasah dan standard penilaian madrasah.
