Ground states for the pseudo-relativistic Hartree equation with external potential

    No full text
We prove the existence of positive ground state solutions to the pseudo-relativistic Schrödinger equation {equation presented}, where N ≥ 3, m > 0, V is a bounded external scalar potential and W is a radially symmetric convolution potential satisfying suitable assumptions. We also provide some asymptotic decay estimates of the found solutions

AbstractIn this paper, we prove that a singularly perturbed Neumann problem with potentials admits the existence of interior spikes concentrating in maxima and minima of an auxiliary functional depending only on the potentials

In this paper we study the semiclassical limit for the pseudo-relativistic Hartree equation-ε2δ+m2u+Vu=(Iα*|u|p)|u|p-2u,in RN, where m>0, 2≤p<2NN-1, V:RN→R is an external scalar potential, Iα(x)=cN,α|x|N-α is a convolution kernel, cN,α is a positive constant and (N-1)p-N<α<N. For N=3, α=p=2, our equation becomes the pseudo-relativistic Hartree equation with Coulomb kerne

The convention and symposium topics dealt with the evolution and harmonisation of national standards on sound insulation requirements in buildings. Most European countries have legal requirements concerning the acoustic performance of buildings, although these widely differ in chosen performance descriptors and requirement levels. The harmonisation of descriptors and performance classes is necessary to stimulate innovation, support sustainability, reduce trade barriers between Member States and facilitate marketing. The symposium was held after nearly one year of activity of COST TU0901 and was the first opportunity to present and discuss the achievements for the first year. It was also an opportunity to present the expected results of the Action from a scientific point of view, and a fundamental step for the dissemination of this important initiative

Cohesive fracture mechanics for a multi-phase porous medium

This paper presents a mathematical model for the analysis of cohesive fracture propagation through a non-homogeneous porous medium. Governing equations are stated within the frame of Biot's theory, accounting for the flow through the solid skeleton, along the fracture and across its sides toward the surrounding medium. The numerical solution is obtained in a 2D context, exploiting the capabilities of an efficient mesh generator, and requires continuous updating of the domain as the fractures enucleate and propagate. It results that fracture paths and their velocity of propagation, usually assumed as known, are supplied directly by the model without introducing any simplifying assumption

We prove existence of standing wave solutions for a nonlinear Schrodinger equation on R-3 under the influence of an external magnetic field B. In particular we deal with the physically meaningful case of a constant magnetic field B=(0,0,b) having source in the potential A(x)=(b/2)(-x(2),x(1),0) corresponding to the Lorentz gauge
