Wood as a scour protection
In the light of the waterframework directive, the dutch organisation of rijkswaterstaat has decided to investigate the application of logs as a biological alternative for the protection and cover of both naturally developing scour holes. In this research a laboratory model was created that was designed to develop a scour hole by gradually contracting flow. Subsequent experiments with a cover of logs show mixed, but promising results where scour rates reduce up to 60% with respect to the baseline experiments.Civil Engineering | Hydraulic Engineering | Hydraulic Structures and Flood Ris
Dans ces bras-là (2000) can be described as a search for identity by the detour of the other. Indeed, the novel is built on three dichotomous relations namely autobiography-fiction, woman-man and writing-oral language. The result is a complex and deep look at Camille Laurens' identity: a woman, an author, but also the narrator of a narrative

STUDI MENGENAI EFEKTIVITAS PENGELOLAAN KEGIATAN BELAJAR MENGAJAR PSIKOMOTORIK DISEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI KOTA MADYA BANDUNG
1. Berapa besar tingkat efektivitas pengelolaan KBM psikomotorik yang dilakukan
guru-guru pendidikan jasmani lulusan Program Diploma Dua (D-2) di SDN kodya
Bandung.
2. Berapa besar tingkat efektivitas pengelolaan KBM psikomotorik yang dilakukan
guru-guru pendidikan jasmani lulusan SMOA-SGO di SDN kodya Bandung.
3. Berapa besar tingkat efektivitas pengelolaan KBM psikomotonk yang dilakukan
guru-guru pendidikan jasmani lulusan Crash Program di SDN kodya Bandung.

psikomotorik melalui sistematika pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani membantu guru

sampel sebanyak 70 guru pendidikan jasmani dengan rincian IS orang lulusan program
500 orang (167 lulusan D2, 214 lulusan SMOA-SGO, 179 lulusan Crash Program).
Selanjutnya pengumpulan data dilaksanakan.
Bone scintigraphy in trapeziometacarpal joint replacement
The normal evolution of bone scintigraphy tracer uptake after trapeziometacarpal total joint arthroplasty is unknown. We assessed the scintigraphic appearance of 111 uncemented implants after surgery and normalization of tracer uptake can be expected after 2 years.Level of evidence: IVFunding

Christopher Gadsden and Henry Laurens: The parallel lives of two American patriots
Born within weeks of each other in colonial Charleston, Christopher Gadsden and Henry Laurens shared similar social and economic backgrounds and became close friends. This friendship deepened during the 1750s, as the two young men pursued similar social and intellectual interests and rose into the Charleston mercantile elite. In the early 1760s, however, this friendship was shaken by several serious local issues, which, coincidentally, marked the birth of the revolutionary movement in South Carolina. As the relationship between Great Britain and the colonies deteriorated during the 1760s and 1770s, so, too, did that between Gadsden and Laurens. In the dispute with Britain, Gadsden became the leader of radical opposition to British policy, while Laurens was prominent among the moderates in South Carolina. Clearly the socio-economic model has limits in explaining the stances of American leaders in the controversy with Britain. This is particularly true in South Carolina, as these two cases demonstrate that personal experiences and conceptions of empire must be considered as well. These two factors were the critical elements in the emergence of Gadsden as a leading radical force and Laurens as the voice of moderation. It is the purpose of this study to show, through the lives and careers of these two men, exactly how, and why, this was the case.U of I OnlyETDs are only available to UIUC Users without author permissio

The Counter Fortress, Reflection on 70's philosophy
Infrastructural transformation brought remarkable spatial quality to the Laurens Quarter. Binnenrotte square emerged as a permanent urban void. But, its potential overlooked and yet unveiled. All public buildings, main traffic access, and new development are concentrated near Blaak station. Recent transformation around the square were done in a naïve way. Although open air market occupies only 30% of a week, there is no sufficient floating population willing to use the square on remaining 70% of time. Fluctuation of people, inconstant use, and low efficiency are problematic in this area. During research, we noticed the site is merely abandoned as an enclave although it is located on the nodal position. We introduced continuation to form an anchor to fix the imbalance in the area. Continuation and two anchors strategy is not only bring balance to the area, but also form the characteristic of Laurens Quarter according to the design we are going to propose after the research.Public Realm RotterdamArchitectureArchitectur

Human rights in a positive state ::rethinking the relationship between positive and negative obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights /
The European Court of Human Rights has long abandoned the view that human rights merely impose obligations of restraint on State authorities (so-called negative obligations). In addition, States are under positive obligations to take steps to actively protect and ensure the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights. While the concept of positive obligations has become increasingly important in the jurisprudence of the European Court, it remains relatively underexplored in the literature. This book goes beyond the existing scholarship by analytically, critically and normatively engaging with the Court's positive obligations case law in a comprehensive and in-depth manner. The book begins by providing an overview of the Court's jurisprudence in this area. Building upon this overview, it brings to the fore the legal methodological consequences attached by the Court to the labels of positive and negative obligations. It moreover critically examines how the Court constructs the distinction between positive and negative obligations, building upon the underlying distinctions between public authorities and private entities, on the one hand, and State action and inaction, on the other. The central argument made in this volume is that in a positive State, in which the authorities have affirmatively intervened in so many areas, it has become increasingly difficult to draw a baseline to properly distinguish between action and inaction. Finally, the author makes suggestions for legal methodological change. This book will prove to be highly valuable for any practitioner or academic interested in the law of the European Convention on Human Rights.Dr Laurens Lavrysen is currently conducting post-doctoral research at Ghent University, Belgium, with a particular focus on the history of the law of the European Convention on Human Rights. This book is based on his PhD research concerning the notion of positive obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights. Dr Lavrysen obtained his doctoral degree from Ghent University in 2016
