Innovazione dei processi della GDO: l’importanza delle nuove tecnologie per la competitività dei punti vendita
In the context of large-scale retailing, technological innovation is an integral part of a range of processes from production activities to logistics, replenishment, to sales channel management. This transformation has resulted in positive benefits regarding both reduced product
processing and marketing times and improved environmental performance in terms of lower resource waste.
Automated checkouts, electronic faceplates, tablets, automated platforms, and artificial intelligence are just a few examples of technological
applications that are key to achieving potential benefits in terms of time savings for the customer, and reduced expenses for
the company, which will have a lower burden related to personnel costs.
Building on these considerations, our analysis focuses on the innovation perceived by companies in the sector. To understand its
importance and impact on the competitiveness of retail outlets in the large-scale retail sector, a survey of the main players operating in this
sector nationwide was conducted
Cardiac arrest and coronavirus disease 2019
The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the cardiovascular system has been highlighted since the very first weeks after the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 identification. We reviewed the influence of COVID-19 pandemic on cardiac arrest, both considering those occurred out of the hospital (OHCA) and in the hospital (IHCA). RECENT FINDINGS: An increase in OHCA incidence occurred in different countries, especially in those regions most burdened by the COVID-19, as this seems to be bounded to the pandemic trend. A change of OHCA patients’ characteristics, with an increase of the OHCA occurred at home, a decrease in bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator use before Emergency Medical Service (EMS) arrival and an increase in non-shockable rhythms, have been highlighted. A dramatic drop in the OHCA patients’ survival was pointed out in almost all the countries, regardless of the high or low-incidence of COVID-19 cases. Concerning IHCA, a reduction in survival was highlighted in patients with COVID-19 who sustained a cardiac arrest. SUMMARY: Cardiac arrest occurrence and survival were deeply affected by the pandemic. Informative campaigns to the population to call EMS in case of need and the re-allocation of the prehospital resources basing on the pandemic trend are needed to improve survival

Digital tranformation in banking. Un’analisi empirica delle attuali sfide e prospettive del settore bancario in Italia
By analysing the history of the economic evolution, it can be observed how all the industrial revolutions have led to great economic, social and cultural growth.
The revolution we are witnessing, known as digital transformation or Industry 4.0, has its main focus in the complete transformation of the value chain, through the use of new enabling technologies and the digitalisation of the entire organizational apparatus. The effect of these innovative technologies are often disruptive and, although they confer quali!able competitive bene!ts and advantages, many companies often find themselves unprepared to face this revolution.
This work aims to analyse and understanding how digital transformation, and all the aspects connected to it, from the changes in the industrial paradigm, to the economic and social effects, up to the radical transformation of the company as we know it, impact on the banking world.
Through an empirical survey, which involves companies in the banking sector operating on the national territory, this study investigates how the companies from the financial sector are going through the digitalisation process, how many investments and funds they dedicate to research and innovation, the resulting bene!ts, challenges and opportunities encountered in the implementation of new technologies for the modernization of the entire organizational system. The analysis carried out shows the growing awareness of companies operating in the sector about the digitalisation process and the potential bene!ts deriving
from this new paradigm. The need to integrate physical and online channels has led to the progressive evolution of traditional formats and strategies. If on the one hand the bene!ts that can be obtained from digital technologies are perceptible in various areas of activity, there are still some criticalities linked mainly to the procurement of highly quali!ed human resources and the high costs of equipments

A comparative study of form and theology in the works of Flannery O'Connor and Simone Weil
In this comparative study of the form and theology of Flannery O'Connor and Simone Weil I interrogate how Weil's philosophical writings and her theology illuminate O'Connor's use of both narrative and non-fictional forms, and her Catholicism. The Introduction analyses how Weil's concept of superposed reading provides a new method of approaching both O'Connor, her writings, and O'Connor
studies, and focuses on how such apparently different women interconnect. Chapter One explores how both Weil and O'Connor attempt to write their theologies on the
souls of their readers yet are each subject to constraints imposed by form. Weil's concept of locating equilibrium between incommensurates is discussed, and her
distinctively philosophical approach to fictions and fictionality is used to investigate O'Connor's notion of prophetic fictions and the writer's role. Chapter Two assesses how both writers revivify Christian paradoxes. Weil's monstrous concept of affiiction, and O'Connor's use of the grotesque genre to jolt secular man into an
awareness of the sacred are scrutinised. Chapter Three studies how both writers consider an encounter between God and man is possible through the action of grace. My Conclusion interrogates how Weil's work can deepen our understanding of O'Connor's writings, and examines how successful O'Connor is at realising a truly
Christian literature. I conclude that despite being a writer of powerful fictions, O'Connor can not be totally successful in her mission as writer-prophet because
ultimately fiction escapes orthodoxy
