Hircinia vallata Dendy 1887
<i>Hircinia vallata</i> Dendy, 1887 <p> <i>Hircinia vallata</i> Dendy, 1887: 163 (no illustration).</p> <p> <i>Hircinia (Psammocinia) vallata</i>; Von Lendenfeld 1889: 581 (no illustration, not mentioned in Hooper & Wiedenmayer 1994). <i>Psammocinia vesiculifera</i>; Cook & Bergquist 1998: 400.</p> <p> This species described by Dendy from Madras (= Chennai), approximate coordinates 13.0806°N 80.3°E, India (lectotype) and Ceylon (= Sri Lanka), approximate coordinates 9°N 79°E (paralectotype) (the dry Madras lectotype is listed in the BMNH collections as ‘holotype’ BMNH 1887.8.24.1, coll. E. Thurston). The species was prematurely described and named by Dendy, as he referred to Von Lendenfeld’s manuscript name <i>vallata</i> for it, to which he apparently had access. Von Lendenfeld (1889: 581) redescribed the species as <i>Hircinia (Psammocinia) vallata</i>, claiming it as his own species without citing Dendy’s name or reference, but listing Dendy’s material from BMNH in addition to material collected from Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, Australia, approximate coordinates 38.1167°S 144.8667°E.</p> <p> The revision of the genus <i>Psammocinia</i> Von Lendenfeld, 1889 by Cook & Bergquist (1998: 400) mentioned only Von Lendenfeld’s name as a junior synonym of <i>Psammocinia vesiculifera</i> (Poléjaeff, 1884: 58), ignoring Dendy’s original use of the name <i>vallata</i>. It would at first glance be a case of homonymy with Dendy’s <i>vallata</i> as senior primary homonym, but Dendy’s reference to Von Lendenfeld’s monograph and the name <i>Hircinia vallata</i> R. von Lendenfeld, MS, makes it abundantly clear that at least part of the specimens is the same for both author descriptions. It remains perhaps undecided whether the South East Australian specimens are conspecific with the Indian type specimens, but if that would not be the case the Australian specimens would be a simple misapplication of the name <i>vallata</i> Dendy, 1887, not a case of homonymy. I propose to assign this species to the junior synonymy of <i>Psammocinia vesiculifera</i> (Poléjaeff, 1884).</p>Published as part of <i>Van Soest, Rob W. The influence of time step setting on the CFD simulation result of vertical axis tidal current turbine
This paper investigates the influence of time step setting on the CFD simulation result
of vertical axis tidal current turbine. Two main features of time step setting have been
studied. The first feature concerns with time step size setting that representing the
detailed calculation on each degree in one turbine rotation. The second feature deals
with number of time step setting that representing how many turbine rotations need for
achieving steadiness results. In this study, two-dimensional (2D) analysis of
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation using ANSYS-Fluent code with
Sliding Mesh technique is used to solve the incompressible Unsteady ReynoldsAveraged
Navier-Stokes equations. The finite volume discretization method with
second-order scheme and the SIMPLE algorithm are used for all transport equations.
Firstly, the numerical model has been validated with available experimental data. Some
given scenarios of time step setting for vertical axis tidal turbine have been modeled
subsequently. Several increment angle (1o
, 5o
, 10o
and 20o
) are investigated and chosen
the best value of them. Afterwards, the best increment angle combining with several
number of rotations (2, 4, 6 and 8 rotations) are investigated. The results show that the
more specific of time step size has the better result but it needs more computational
times. The recommendation of time step size is 5

. The steadiness calculation
result is achieved at six turbine rotations and the rest has no significant effect

He exhibited at the Dudley Gallery from 1872 and at the Royal Academy from the following year through to the 1890s. The Influence of Structural Parameters on the Ultimate Strength Capacity of a Designed Vertical Axis Turbine Blade for Ocean Current Power Generators
An ocean current power generator is a power plant that uses kinetic energy from ocean currents to generate electricity. Considering that the blade is the component that receives the biggest load from seawater currents, its structural design should be strong enough to sustain the applied load. Therefore, this research seeks a suitable design and material for turbine blades using the finite element method (FEM). A NACA 0021 blade with a total length of 3600 mm is used for the base geometry. A parametric study was conducted by varying the spacing between the supports, the pitch angle, the material, and the frame model. Considering a high load, the suitable amount of space between the stiffeners was 2200 mm. It was found that a pitch angle variation between −20° and +20° did not significantly affect the strength of the blade structure. The frame geometry variation caused the rigidity and cross-section area of the blade to differ. Therefore, web-shaped or bar-shaped frames are preferable because they have optimal maximum load-to-weight ratios. The Influence of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion System Efficiency on Net Power Output
Indonesia has great potential for utilizing Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) due to its strategic tropical conditions. This study analyzes the sensitivity of main parameters on the net power output of a 10 MW OTEC system based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) using Aspen Plus simulation. Variations on surface seawater temperature, deep seawater temperature, turbine efficiency, working fluid pump efficiency, and seawater pump efficiency were carried out. The simulation results show that turbine efficiency is the dominant factor, where an increase from 92% to 96% raised the net power from 9332 kW to 9958 kW. Seawater pump efficiency also gave a significant contribution by increasing the net power, while the working fluid pump efficiency only produced small improvement on the scale of tens of kilowatts. On the other hand, variations in warm and cold seawater temperatures had a limited effect. This happens because other parameters, such as mass flow rate of working fluid and seawater, were kept constant in the simulation, so temperature increase alone was not enough to influence system performance. These findings confirm that OTEC optimization is more effective through improving the efficiency of main components, especially the turbine and seawater pump
Hydrodynamic Responses of Floating Oscillating Water Column for Wave Energy Conversion
Wave energy is a promising renewable resource due to its high-power density, predictability, and relatively low environmental impact. Oscillating Water Columns (OWCs) have been widely investigated as wave energy converters (WECs), yet floating platforms remain limited by motion responses that reduce stability and efficiency. This study examines the hydrodynamic response of a pontoon-type floater with a centered moonpool for OWC applications. Numerical simulations were performed using the Boundary Element Method (BEM) in ANSYS AQWA, focusing on the heave response amplitude operator (RAO). Case configurations included the moonpool length-to-floater length ratio (l/L) of 0.5, 0.4, and 0.3; moonpool width-to-floater beam ratio (b/B) of 0.5, 0.25, and 0.1; and drafts of 1.6, 2.4, and 3.2 m, combined through cross-variation. Validation against experimental results confirmed the reliability of the numerical approach. The results indicate that smaller floaters with higher l/L ratios and larger drafts produce higher heave RAO values, while larger floaters are less affected by the moonpool. Overall, increasing floater size enhances stability and reduces the amplifying effect of draft and moonpool variations on heave response

untuk didirikan 3 SMA Negeri secara bersamaan yaitu SMAN 8 Tangerang, SMAN 9 Tangerang dan SMAN 10 Tangerang, mulai Tahun Pelajaran 2003/2004. Permasalahan yang dihadapi di SMA Negeri 9 Kota Tangerang adalah pada system penilaian yang berjalan saat ini yaitu dalam satu kelas terdapat 15 mata pelajaran yang diterima oleh siswa dan masing-masing mempunyai nilai yang berbeda. Tak jarang penyimpanan nilai siswa dicatat dan disimpan secara manual. Sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama dalam pengerjaannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memantau penilaian siswa dengan menggunakan sistem informasi berbasis web pada SMAN 9 Kota Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode pengumpulan data, metode analisa, dan metode perancangan. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengadakan observasi di sekolah, melakukan dokumentasi dengan mempelajari dokumen yang ada, melakukan wawancara kepada pihak terkait. Metode analisa sistem menggunakan Unified Modelling Language (UML) yang digambarkan dengan Use Case Diagram, Activity Diagram dan Sequence Diagram.Metode perancangan menggunakan Unified Modelling Language (UML) dan menggunakan bahasa pemprogramman PHP ( PHP Hypertext Preprocessor). Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah rancang bangun sistem informasi penilaian siswa yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan memudahkan user dalam menginput dan membuat laporan nilai siswa.
