The aim of this work is to deepen, through the presentation of some cases, the relationship between museums and food and wine, in order to highlight how the mutual synergy can derive positive effects for both sectors. The relationship between museums and food and wine productions can in fact derive significant benefits not only in terms of local development, as in the case of projects aimed at the recovery of ancient cultivation methods, but also in terms of visibility, as in the case of co-branding strategies. As well as, finally, in terms of implementing new fundraising channels and extending the cultural experience for the visitor, as in the case of merchandising

Social innovation and accessibility in museum: Some evidence from the sostare al mann project

In recent years, the function of museums has changed from focusing on protecting cultural heritage to reach out to a wider audience and proposing a series of new methods to promote and display its collections and contribute towards collective cultural and social development. In this new vision, accessibility acquires a central role, asking to enable people who otherwise would have been excluded, be it because of physical disabilities or because suffering from behavioural and/or cognitive disorders, to enjoy the benefits of culture. Accordingly, some museums have developed a number of new approaches for people with special needs affected by autism spectrum disorder. At the same time these new activities are designed leveraging new competences and knowledge that museums only rarely own, but they can get access to them engaging local stakeholders in a process that starts from analysing the local area’ needs to develop new ways to visit the collections that can be seen as a social innovation. This work is concerned with analysing a project undertaken by the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli (National Archaeological Museum of Naples) with some of its stakeholders, aiming to understand whether, by altering the perspective of analysis, museums can introduce totally novel ways to approach their collections, so that they are more inclusive and welcoming for people affected by behavioural and/or cognitive disorders

Our study aimed to define a zootechnical rearing module suitable to satisfy the productive and profitability needs of zootechnical enterprises for the rearing of dairy cattle in compliance with regulatory requirements concerning the environment, biological productions as well as animal hygiene and wellbeing. The study was conducted in the zootechnical district of the Apulian Murgia, featuring a high productive specialization. The farm module was defined by analyzing and identifying both quantitative and qualitative parameters. The optimum number of heads per farm (quantitative parameter) was determined on the basis of technical and regulatory references of agronomic and environmental type as well as through direct surveys. The qualitative assessment, performed in order to define the rearing module from a building standpoint, was carried out by comparing the rearing module previously determined in consideration of the regulations on the subjects of hygiene (Community Directives 92/46and 92/47), animal wellbeing (Community Directives 98/58 and 92/2) and the natural environment (Community Directives 79/409 and 92/43). The study we conducted enabled us to establish the optimum number of heads in terms of profitability and made it possible for us to define a building model suitable to satisfy the needs of farms with regard to production as well as environmental and landscaping requirements. By comparing the identified model with the recurrent typologies found through our surveys, our study enabled the representation of the interventions needed to adjust the rearing facilities to the identified module

This paper is aimed at analysing the rural building heritage present in the region of Apulia in Southern Italy, focusing on the constructions that can be defined minor in terms of size and functions unlike the best known masserie, large multi - functional vernacular farmhouses. A list was preliminarily drawn-up that contains typological macro categories of both residential and operating type buildings, which is able to represent the varied Apulian rural building heritage. Each of the groups defined in this manner was examined by outlining the building and functional characteristics of each category. The numeric and distributional assessment of the rural constructions present in the Apulian territory was subsequently carried out, based on the Military Geographic Institute (IGM) cartography -scale ratio 1:25,000- that is the most effective historical information source in the national and regional context. The comparison between construction typologies and territorial areas has shown a clear correlation between forms, functions and characteristics of the territorial context.Research aim. - The work aims to deepen the knowledge of rural historical buildings of Apulia region in Italy since most of the studies and official sources have been mainly focusing on large building structures called masserie and substantially ignore the minor rural buildings. The work develops a methodology suitable to acknowledge the different types of the historical rural constructions widespread in the Apulian landscape for a better and effective census. The results showed a close relationship between typological variability and the territory. (C) 2019 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved
