There are several students who, when answering questions, especially in the subject of science given by the teacher, still feel embarrassed and fearful. Moreover, it is not only the fear of answering; some students also lack the willingness to express their opinions. Consequently, the teaching and learning activities predominantly employ lecture methods, which may not always align with the subject matter being taught. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of the cooperative learning model, specifically the Talking Stick, on the science learning activities of fifth-grade students. The research design is experimental with a pre-test and post-test group design. The researcher included the entire population of fifth-grade students, totaling 30 students, comprising 15 male and 15 female students, at SDN 1 Krembung. In this study, the researcher used a saturated sampling technique with a sample size of 30 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a one-sample t-test. The results of the one-sample t-test indicated a ρ value of 0.00 for both pre-test and post-test results, signifying ρ < α, with α = 0.05. This indicates a difference in students\u27 activity in solving science problems before and after utilizing the Talking Stick model. Based on the group averages, the pre-test average was 56.8, and the post-test group average was 71. Cooperative learning models are developed to achieve student performance, including academic achievement, tolerance, acceptance of diversity, and the enhancement of social skills. The primary goal of cooperative learning is to maximize student performance to improve academic achievement and understanding, both individually and as a group

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Cooperative Talking Stick Science learning model on the activeness of fifth grade students. The design of this study was an experimental type with a pretest-posttest design for the first group. The population consisted of 30 class V students, This research was conducted at SDN Krembung 1. The sample for this research was taken by 30 respondents using saturated sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using one sample t-test. The results of the t-test for one sample showed that ρ = 0.00. The results before and after testing mean ρ <; α, if α = 0.05, indicates that there are differences in student performance on scientific questions before and after the application of the talking stick model. Based on the group average, the average pre-test score was 56.8 and the group post-test average was 7

After the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, several countries began to implement various policies and recommendations. This policy and recommendation is carried out because it is to break the chain and also reduce the spread of the covid 19 virus. For example, in Indonesia, the government makes a policy to move at home. There are so many activities that are carried out from home, for example learning from home, working from home (WFH) for teachers and office workers. The purpose of writing this research is to find out how the learning model that exists in schools during the current pandemic. And explained how the usual learning at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo was carried out during this covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. That is a study that understands the problem of using what media during the COVID-19 pandemic, the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, the ability of students to use technology and students' understanding of online learning. In the research process this time using interview and observation techniques during the research process. In this study, it is explained what kind of learning model carried out by SD Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo, such as when the level of the COVID-19 pandemic was still high, schools carried out full online learning so that it could run effectively, efficiently, optimally and could take place well. The learning media used are multimedia-based in the form of whatsapp, zoom, google classroom. With this research, we know how to find strategies in distance learning during the covid 19 pandemic so that the teaching and learning process runs smoothly like face-to-face learning
