Scientific Reports, 6. doi:10.1038/srep27907Violative drug residues in animal-derived foods are a global food safety concern. The use of a fixed main metabolite to parent drug (M/D) ratio determined in healthy animals to establish drug tolerances and withdrawal times in diseased animals results in frequent residue violations in food-producing animals. We created a general physiologically based pharmacokinetic model for representative drugs (ceftiofur, enrofloxacin, flunixin, and sulfamethazine) in cattle and swine based on extensive published literature. Simulation results showed that the M/D ratio was not a fixed value, but a time-dependent range. Disease changed M/D ratios substantially and extended withdrawal times; these effects exhibited drug-and species-specificity. These results challenge the interpretation of violative residues based on the use of the M/D ratio to establish tolerances for metabolized drugs

No full textKatalikų ir Stačiatikių Bažnyčios aiškindamos apreikštąsias tiesas taikė skirtingus metodus ir būdus. Todėl kartais vienai kuriai šių teologinių tradicijų pavyksta labiau įsigilinti į kai kuriuos Apreiškimo slėpinio aspektus arba geriau juos išreikšti. Šie skirtumai dažniausiai neprieštarauja vieni kitiems, bet vieni kitus papildo. Šv. Serafimas Sarovietis - rusų vienuolis ir mistikas, kurio asketinės praktikos ir kompetentingas dvasinis vadovavimas laimėjo jam tiek paprastų žmonių, tiek ir aukštuomenės pripažinimą. Jis yra viena garsiausių asmenybių Rusijos Stačiatikių Bažnyčios istorijoje. Šventas jo gyvenimas pritraukė daugybę mokinių bei sekėjų, troškusių gauti jo patarimų ir dalytis jo rekomenduojamu dvasingumu: kontempliatyvia malda, vienuoliška askeze, šventu savęs drausminimu ir gyvenimu Šventojoje Dvasioje. Rusijos Stačiatikių Bažnyčia 1903 m. jį kanonizavo. Kanonizacijos iškilmėse dalyvavo tūkstančiai stačiatikių tikinčiųjų. Imperatorius Nikolajus II pagerbė šventąjį asmeniškai nešdamas karstą su jo palaikais. Serafimas Sarovietis yra vienas mėgiamiausių šventųjų šiandienėje Rusijoje ir vienas žymiausių stačiatikių dvasingumo mokytojų. Sometimes one tradition has come nearer to a full appreciation of some aspects of a mystery of revelation than the other, or has expressed them better. These various theological formulations are often to be considered complementary rather than conflicting. St. Serafim of Sarov, Russian monk and mystic, whose ascetic practice and competent spiritual direction won him the recognition from the common people and the high society. He is one of the most renowned monastic figures in Russian Orthodox history. His holy life attracted disciples and followers who came from far and wide to receive his counsel and to partake of his spiritual program of contemplative prayer, monastic-like austerities, rigorous self-discipline and a life in Holy Spirit. The Russian Orthodox Church canonised him in 1903. The Ceremony was attended by thousands of Orthodox Christians and the crowd was mad with joy to see their Emperor Nikolaj II carrying the coffin with St. Seraphim’s relics. Seraphim of Sarov is one of the most revered Saints of modem Russia and one of the greatest orthodox teachers of spiritual life.
