The "comune sentire": Italian historic centres as cultural heritage
The essay traces a brief reconstruction of the way Italy, after its unification, adopted the image of the 'country to be visited' and the 'country of a hundred towns' from the representations foreign travellers produced during the age of Grand Tour. In such a reconstruction the author shows how, below such an enduring image, the country has had to cope with its modernization, its industrialization, and recently the issues related to immigration, trying to balance its long-standing gap between the state and municipalities, and the necessity to give new value to historic centres as, at the same time, the very social inclusive hub of Italian towns as well as the often gentrified and high-income districts

Cities’ Mind: Some Lessons Learnt from the Mediterranean
The city is not made up only of stones, buildings, roads, bridges or gates. The city is also a mental place that hosts ways of life, practices, perceptions, rituals, movements, moods and feelings. This distinction between the built territory on the one hand, and the way in which people inhabit and live in a city on the other, does not seem to be sustainable anymore, above all in the light of the technological transformations which over the last few decades have contributed to reconfiguring the urban space as a hybrid space. This essay, in a dialogue with the concepts of Gilbert Simondon's philosophy, offers a general picture of the evolution processes of the city, which the author considers the first and oldest example of "artificial intelligence"
Profitability of organic oat farming and its influencing factors on the basis of Lehar Neve´s Rimmi farm
Bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on selgitada välja Lehar Neve Rimmi talu näitel (aastatel
2013-2015) mahekaera kasvatamise tasuvus kattetulu järgi ning otsida võimalusi
mahekaera tasuvuse suurendamiseks. Bakalaureusetöö probleemiks on, et kas Lehar Neve
Rimmi talu mahekaera kasvatuse laiendamise otsus on olnud majanduslikult õigustatud.
Töös kasutatavad andmed on kogutud Lehar Neve Rimmi talu
raamatupidamisdokumentide vaatluse teel ja Eesti Statistikaameti andmebaasidest. Lisaks
kasutatakse andmeallikana autori läbiviidud poolstruktureeritud intervjuud ettevõtte
juhiga.
Arvandmeid analüüsides jõudis töö autor järeldusele, et positiivse kattetulu eelduseks on
madalad muutuvkulud ning kõrge kogutoodangu väärtus ning ilma
põllumajandustoetusteta ei ole mahekaera kasvatus tasuv. Bakalaureusetöö autor leidis, et
tootmise tasuvuse suurendamiseks on vajalik jälgida tootmisel tehtavaid kulutusi kuna
kulusid saab ettevõtte juhtkond kontrollida, aga tulusid reeglina mitte. Bakalaureusetöös
koostatud Lehar Neve Rimmi talu mahekaera kasvatamise kattetulu näitajate analüüsi
tulemusena jõudis autor järeldusele, et mahekaera kasvatus on Lehar Neve Rimmi talus
tasuv. Autor usub, et käesolev bakalaureusetöö on vajalik teistele sarnastele ettevõtetele,
kuna töös selgub milliste kuludega peab mahekaera kasvataja arvestama ja millised
võiksid olla oodatavad tulud. The aim of the current Bachelor’s thesis was to find out the profitability of organic oat
farming according to gross margin on the basis of Lehar Neve’s Rimmi farm (from 2013
until 2015) and to find possibilities to increase profitability of organic oat farming. The
problem to solve was that whether the decision to increase organic oat farming in Lehar
Neve’s Rimmi farm was economically justified. Data used in this thesis was gathered by
documentation survey from accounting reports of Lehar Neve’s Rimmi farm and from
Statistics Estonia database. In addition, half-structured interview with the leader of the
company was used as a data source.
The conclusions of the empirical analysis were that the prerequisites for positive gross
margin are low variable costs and high gross output values and that organic oat farming is
not profitable without the subsidiaries. The author finds that in order to increase
profitability the production costs must be taken under observation, since costs can be
optimized in the company, but incomes are usually not controllable. As a result of gross
margin indicator analysis of organic oat farming in Lehar Neve’s Rimmi farm, the author
concluded that organic oat farming is profitable in the company. Current thesis can be
beneficial for other similar companies by showing, which costs are more important and
which are the expected incomes

Young’s modulus decrease after cold forming
The start of 21st century saw an increasing level of competition among automotives. Automotive company needs to cope with the challenges of production of high quality, cheap and environment friendly cars. This becomes possible by the use of High Strength Steel (HSS), Advance High Strength Steel (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) with thinner gauges for automotive bodies. Besides this, automotive has also to face the issue of the reduction in “Design to Market time” which plays an important role for the company to remain competitive. This issue can be best met by the production of a “first time right” product and process and becomes possible by the use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). In most sheet metal forming operations, springback, which is undesirable, takes place at the end of operation which results in the deviation of final geometry from the design geometry. Springback is found higher for the metal with higher strength and for the thinner gauges and this is the reason of the higher amount of springback when HSS, AHSS and UHSS with thinner gauges are used for automotive bodies. The need of prediction of springback before an actual operation is therefore emphasized so that it can be compensated in the manufacture of expensive dies and tooling. The current practise of the manufacture of these dies is trial and error process which is time consuming, labour extensive and very expensive. An advance approach, which eliminates these problems, is the use of Finite Element (FE) analysis for the prediction of springback. In most cases, the springback with FE analysis is under predicted. There are many factors which contribute to the inaccurate springback prediction. One factor responsible for the inaccurate springback prediction is the assumption of constant Young’s modulus in FE analysis. Young’s modulus, however, is found to decrease during plastic deformation. Therefore, an accurate model is needed to be implemented in FE analysis which can predict the decrease in Young’s modulus. With passage of time, Young’s modulus is found to restore to its initial value. The present study focuses on this aspect of springback prediction. Bake Hardenable (BH) steel has been selected to investigate the degradation and recovery in Young’s modulus. Two models are presented from literature in this report which are responsible for degradation when sheet metal is subjected to plastic deformation. The recovery in BH steel is considered to be due to strain ageing phenomenon in BH steel. The degradation in E modulus is found to be a function of dislocation density and average dislocation loop length between pinning points. In order to estimate the Young’s modulus as a function of prestrain, these two parameters need to be known. The decrease in Young’s modulus and its recovery has been measured experimentally by two methods i.e. the dynamic method (Impulse Excitation Technique) and a static method (Tensile Test). The results are thoroughly discussed and some conclusions are drawn from it. At the end of the report, some recommendations are suggested for the future work. The report also compares the two methods of measurement and helpful tips are given for future work using these methods of measurement.Precision and Microsystems EngineeringMechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineerin
This paper has the major objective of elucidating how the chronicle can be considered a borderline gender, between journalism and literature, and how the reference of regional, with universal reach, is built, in some of the texts in Quando cai a neve no Brasil: crônicas (2004), by Paulo Ribeiro, author from Rio Grande do Sul. This research also tries to demonstrate how the chronicle, a genre of imprecise/vague definition, placed in between fiction and documentary, holds the capacity to offer a representative image, through universalizing experiences, of a kind of human being who inhabits Bom Jesus and the region of Campos de Cima da Serra
