    No full text
Many modern families involve pets in most of their daily social activities. Yet, many of them do not involve pets when undertaking tourism activities. Drawing upon theories of planned behaviour and leisure constraint models, this study intends to examine how perceptions of their relationship with pets and perceived constraints may influence the willingness of owners to travel with pets. Focusing on reviewing multidisciplinary literature on human–pet relationship-oriented leisure trip activities with a method of theoretical analysis, this paper proposed an integrated theoretical framework based on recognized and synthesized patterns and similarities within the literature

A federated learning scheme meets dynamic differential privacy

    No full text
Abstract Federated learning is a widely used distributed learning approach in recent years, however, despite model training from collecting data become to gathering parameters, privacy violations may occur when publishing and sharing models. A dynamic approach is proposed to add Gaussian noise more effectively and apply differential privacy to federal deep learning. Concretely, it is abandoning the traditional way of equally distributing the privacy budget ϵ and adjusting the privacy budget to accommodate gradient descent federation learning dynamically, where the parameters depend on computation derived to avoid the impact on the algorithm that hyperparameters are created manually. It also incorporates adaptive threshold cropping to control the sensitivity, and finally, moments accountant is used to counting the ϵ consumed on the privacy‐preserving, and learning is stopped only if the ϵtotal by clients setting is reached, this allows the privacy budget to be adequately explored for model training. The experimental results on real datasets show that the method training has almost the same effect as the model learning of non‐privacy, which is significantly better than the differential privacy method used by TensorFlow

    No full text
The expansion of Video-On-Demand (VOD) services in Indonesia and the Philippines has altered media consumption behaviours, resulting in heightened interest in comprehending customer payment methods for these subscriptions. As VOD platforms broaden their scope, examining payment methods provides essential insights into consumer behaviour and the fundamental elements that shape payment preferences. This research employed a quantitative survey methodology, collecting data from 1,000 participants in Indonesia and the Philippines. The selected cities comprised Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya, and Bali in Indonesia, as well as Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Davao City in the Philippines. The survey evaluated users\u27 preferred payment methods for VOD subscriptions, including credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and bank transfers. Initial data indicate a significant inclination towards mobile wallet payments, especially in Indonesia, where 45% of participants identified this as their preferred option. In the Philippines, conventional credit and debit cards are favoured, with 38% of participants opting for this method. These observations indicate that VOD service providers must modify their payment structures to meet local consumer preferences. By incorporating several payment choices, marketers can improve client acquisition and retention, ensuring that payment methods do not hinder subscriptions. Comprehending payment behaviour will be crucial for enhancing marketing tactics in the changing digital environment of Southeast Asia

    No full text
This study investigates the regulatory implications for the development of digital donation platforms in Indonesia, with a particular focus on Saweria, which is widely utilized by YouTube content creators. The advancement of digital technology has facilitated innovative fundraising through donation-based crowdfunding, yet it simultaneously generates potential risks of misuse. Employing a normative juridical research approach, this study examines the vulnerability of digital donation platforms—initially intended to serve as financial support mechanisms—to exploitation for unlawful purposes, notably the dissemination and promotion of online gambling activities. The findings indicate that although the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (ITE Law), particularly Article 27 paragraph (2) jo. Article 45 as amended by Law No. 1 of 2024, stipulates prohibitions on gambling-related content with sanctions of up to six years imprisonment and/or administrative fines of IDR 1 billion, its enforcement continues to encounter evidentiary and procedural constraints. The study emphasizes the necessity for more specific regulatory frameworks, enhanced platform security, increased awareness among content creators, and coordinated multi-stakeholder collaboration to develop adaptive safeguards against digital criminality

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a decline in employee satisfaction. It would appear that ensuring the contentment of one's workforce in their place of employment is the most significant obstacle that companies must overcome. Therefore, this study examined the effects of wages and welfare, relations with superiors, and learning and development on employee satisfaction in Malaysia. The study employed a cross-sectional design, and the research instruments were adapted from several prior studies. Employees working for a telecommunications company in Malaysia completed a total of 162 questionnaires online. The research hypotheses were analysed using SPSS Version 26.0. The findings show that although relations with superiors had a significant positive effect on employee satisfaction, learning and development had an even stronger positive effect. On the other hand, wages and welfare did not display a significant effect on employee satisfaction. This study makes a unique contribution to theoretical understanding by investigating these factors in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic as intrinsic and extrinsic components impacting employee satisfaction. Additionally, this research gives corporate organisations vital insights to ensure they can maintain a competitive edge in their industry

The significant relationships between attitude, descriptive norm, injunctive norm, environmental knowledge, and households’ intention to practise solid waste segregation-at-source

    No full text
Previous research has reported that environmental knowledge plays an important role in enhancing general pro-environmental behaviour, as environmental knowledge appears to be the key indicator for increasing awareness of several pollution promulgations and other natural environmental issues. However, the significant role of environmental knowledge in the intention of households to practise solid waste segregation-at-source is not well understood. This research will, therefore, investigate the influence of environmental knowledge on the intention of households to engage in solid waste segregation-at-source. Further analysis will also be carried out explore the moderating effect of environmental knowledge in the relationship between the households’ attitude and subjective norm (i.e. descriptive norm and injunctive norm) with the intention to practise solid waste segregation-at-source. The findings of this current research are expected to provide an essential opportunity to investigate knowledge gaps, to contribute to the enrichment of existing literature, as well as to provide important insights for local households and Malaysian government agencies to strengthen the sense of responsibility for environmental cleanliness
