No full textThis choreography was commissioned for BFA Dance students by Texas State University Division of Dance, San Marcos, US. The BFA degree is ranked 10th best in the United States and this artist residency and the piece forms part of the development of future leading dance professional in the US. The piece From Within was created for 7 dancers as a result of the three-week long summer school residency at TX Fest. The summer school included a one-week long distance learning part taught by Associate Professor Ana Baer, which explored my personal dance practice, my technical background and choreographic influences and a two-week long practical residency taught by Heike Salzer

No full textKrummi is a multimedia performance, choreographed and directed by Heike Salzer and commissioned by Merge Dance Company at Texas State University. The piece explores Nordic mythology and in particular the old Icelandic poem ‘Krummivisur’ – The Raven’s song. The piece explores a sophisticated interrelationship of aural and visual rhythms. Via the dialogues of the rhythm of movement/choreography on stage, composition of the sites and movements on the screen and the rhythm of the edit and the soundscape, the piece creates an aesthetic and visceral experience for the audience.
