Objective of this work was to provide a tool for viewing and processing of data from environmental monitoring campaigns. The "date samples" used for the application consists of chemical values, physical-chemical, microbiological and ecotoxicological obtained from monitoring campaigns of groundwater, surface and marine coastal basin of the vast territory of the Regi Lagni, notorious for persistent environmental degradation, which has an area of approximately 1200 km2 and covers a good part of the area north-west of Campania (Campania Plain). Data is extracted from sample cards containing personal data, test results and images for each sample. The work is divided into three distinct phases , not predetermined , established from time to time, based on the demands of having to have data in a specific format: the first phase was carried out a software application for the collection and management of data in the form of a database, in the second phase it was made Gis application that has enabled the design of a GeoDatabase populated by migrating data from the relational database and allows, through an interface developed ad hoc consultation and some simple processing of analytical data geo-referenced, and finally the third phase, currently being implemented, involves the construction of an application for webgis sharing public data to citizens

The role of educative thought in the life and work of Antonio Gramsci

Many philosophers have propounded a vision of an improved society, what distinguishes Antonio Gramsci is his continuous effort to make it happen by understanding the process in order to put into practice. Gramsci's conviction about the importance of educative development came from both theory and experience. While there has been considerable examination of Gramsci's work in relation to the Prison Notebooks, this study will seek to address a lacuna in Gramsci scholarship. Using Gramsci's philological method, I analyse Gramsci's pre-prison activity; his pre-prison articles and letters, which, together with his letters from prison, formed part of his educative mission. This educative process was necessary, in order to construct a new party which would develop a collective will, collaboratively, with the masses. In this study therefore, I explore the contexts and formative experiences of the first part of his life together with the intellectual sources from which Gramsci developed his later theories, making central hitherto underemphasised connections between them which informed his writing and ideas. I intend to illustrate that Gramsci's underlying purpose in his writing, and political activity, was not only practical, on how to create a new socialist ruling class, but also educative in forming the mindset and values of his comrades. So that in addition to outlining his vision of a new order, he implicitly guided or explicitly explained the processes by which the necessary changes in social relations and moral climate could be made in order to achieve it. Each person had to engage with the values of the new order so that each could contribute to the construction of a new robust state. It was essential to build a hegemony at the most profound level, one which was dependent on collective understandings and a collective will

Modeling and validation of a modular multi-lamp photo-reactor for cetylpyridinium chloride degradation by UV and UV/H2O2 processes

UV-C assisted disinfection processes are among the well-known tertiary processes for water reuse, wastewater reclamation and domestic water disinfection. However, treated wastewaters normally contain several organic compounds and pollutants that can be partially degraded under UV-C irradiation to different by-products, often more toxic than their parent compounds, and/or, for longer treatment times, completely mineralized. For this reason, kinetic modeling of pollutants degradation in UV-C assisted processes is of crucial importance in plants design. This work aims to the characterization of a reactor configuration consisting of 6 lamps placed following a symmetric hexagonal geometry. Specifically, a mathematical model is proposed to estimate the mean optical length and degradation kinetics for UV-C and UV-C/H2O2 processes. The model has been tested with different reference organic compounds and represents a significant characterization of a modular geometric unit used in a great variety of applications. Finally, the characterized reactor was used to estimate the quantum yield of direct photolysis at 254 nm () and kinetic constant of reaction with hydroxyl radical of cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) , an emerging pollutant of wide interest
