stabili e mutuamente proficue e soddisfacenti.
I risultati dell’indagine evidenziano
It is widely believed that the recent international financial crisis has changed the bank customer preferences and behaviors leading to a generalized loss of confidence in the banking system.
The aim of this study is to verify whether or not there has been a real loss of confidence in banks' customers and if bank workers perceived this phenomenon. In particular, in order to investigate the perception of the banking industry, we have choose to focus our research on local banks, which are characterized by proximity to the territory and a close relationship with their customers.
Because of the close interdependence with the social and economic communities in which it is established, the local bank is expected to more easily perceive any change in customer behavior.
The impact of the crisis on bank customer relationship is examined through the analysis of the literature. The perception of the banks by the crisis impact on their client relationships is investigated by interviewing a sample of some employees of local banks operating in Italy.
The work concludes with an analysis of possible competitive levers activated by local banks to consolidate the relationship with its customers.
The research results indicate that there was a change in bank-customer relationship as a consequence of the crisis and that this change was perceived by banks employees
An Analysis of the Behaviour of Cooperative and Joint Stock Banks in Italy
An extensive theoretical and empirical literature acknowledges the crucial role of
cooperative banks in promoting local development. The history and peculiarities of the
cooperative model seem, in fact, to make this type of bank particularly active in lending to
families and SMEs. This study focuses on the Italian banking system, comparing two kind
of banks, banche Popolari – a particular type of cooperative bank in Italy – and joint stock
banks, to investigate differences in the behaviour of such banks. In particular, we analyse a
sample of 147 Italian banks over 2005–2009, focusing on the profit and loss account
margins, credit quality and capital adequacy of these two institutional forms. The research
concludes that cooperatives pay for their attitude to supporting SMEs with a lower credit
quality, and they counterbalance this by showing higher capitalisation and higher
profitability in terms of the net interest margin

Monete fiscali e possibili applicazioni regionali: il caso Sicilia
The chapter, within a book devoted to the fiscal money, treats of regional fiscal money. In doing this, it focuses two main topics.
The former is the exploitation of a regional fiscal money, answering to the question if it is technically possible and economically convenient to issue fiscal money at a lower level than the state one. The latter concerns an Italian region in particular: Sicily, considered under many points of view as an OCA (Optimum Currency Area). The chapter explores, as well, the positive effects of introducing regional fiscal monies in underdevelopped regions and the value of them as a positive experiment, like in a laboratory, before extending them on a national basis
The chapter develops, within a text devoted to the fiscal money, mainly under an economical point of view, an alternative point of view: the juridical one. The main problem dealed with is the legal feasibility of issuing Certified for Tax Credits. This study is conducted both under a private law approach and under a public law one. At the end, a properly accounting point of view is developped, under the provisions of generally agreed accounting standards and European Regulations on public sector accounts
