    SUNY Geneseo awarded its first Medal of Distinction to 1975 alumnus Glenn Gordon Caron, an Emmy-award winning television writer and producer best known for his work on the hit programs Medium and Moonlighting. The medal is the college\u27s highest honor recognizing exceptional professional achievement and contributions to society. During 1950-1951 the four residence halls (Bailey, Fraser, Blake, and Sturges) accommodated 204 women students and the College Center, with dining room, snack bar, lounge, post office and browsing and game rooms were occupied. Blake is named for George (Guy) A. Bailey, an international authority on birds. Was affectionatly known to the students as Bugs Bailey. During 1950-1951 the four residence halls (Bailey, Fraser, Blake, and Sturges) accommodated 204 women students and the College Center, with dining room, snack bar, lounge, post office and browsing and game rooms were occupied. Anne S. Blake began as a substitute kindergarten teacher in 1917, then head of the kindergarten department, then dean of women from 1921. She retired in 1934.
