Interfacial Properties of Anisotropic Monolayer SiAs Transistors

    No full text
The newly prepared monolayer (ML) SiAs is expected to be a candidate channel material for next-generation nano-electronic devices in virtue of its proper bandgap, high carrier mobility, and anisotropic properties. The interfacial properties in ML SiAs field-effect transistors are comprehensively studied with electrodes (graphene, V2CO2, Au, Ag, and Cu) by using ab initio electronic structure calculations and quantum transport simulation. It is found that ML SiAs forms a weak van der Waals interaction with graphene and V2CO2, while it forms a strong interaction with bulk metals (Au, Ag, and Cu). Although ML SiAs has strong anisotropy, it is not reflected in the contact property. Based on the quantum transport simulation, ML SiAs forms n-type lateral Schottky contact with Au, Ag, and Cu electrodes with the Schottky barrier height (SBH) of 0.28 (0.27), 0.40 (0.47), and 0.45 (0.33) eV along the a (b) direction, respectively, while it forms p-type lateral Schottky contact with a graphene electrode with a SBH of 0.34 (0.28) eV. Fortunately, ML SiAs forms an ideal Ohmic contact with the V2CO2 electrode. This study not only gives a deep understanding of the interfacial properties of ML SiAs with electrodes but also provides a guide for the design of ML SiAs devices

Fig. 3 | SIAS analysis of NPC1 N Terminus domain including both identity and similarity test. 11 protein sequences were found through Ensembl and inputted into Aliview in order to align and shorten the sequence for only the N terminus domain using MUSCLE. Once the aligned sequence was obtained, the fastfa file was uploaded to a SIAS analysis tool for identity and similarity test. The following species were analyzed: Homo sapien, Pan troglodyte, Gorilla gorilla gorilla, Gallus gallus, Canis lupus familiaris, Bos taurus, Pteropus vampyrus, Rhinopithecus roxellana, Otolemur garnettii, and Rhinolophus ferrumequinum. These tests indicate the level of similarity between differing species with the NPC1 n terminus domain. The identity test indicates the level of 100% same amino acids between two different sequences while the similarity test indicates level of resemblance between two sequences in comparison including side chains

Constructing 2D heterojunctions with high performance is the critical solution for the optoelectronic applications of 2D materials. This work reports on the studies on the preparation of high-quality van der Waals SiAs single crystals and high-performance photodetectors based on the 2D SiAs/SnS2 heterojunction. The crystals are grown using the chemical vapor transport (CVT) method and then the bulk crystals are exfoliated to a few layers. Raman spectroscopic characterization shows that the low wavenumber peaks from interlayer vibrations shift significantly along with SiAs' thickness. In addition, when van der Waals heterojunctions of p-type SiAs/n-type SnS2 are fabricated, under the source-drain voltage of -1 V-1 V, they exhibit prominent rectification characteristics, and the ratio of forwarding conduction current to reverse shutdown current is close to 102, showing a muted response of 1 A/W under excitation light of 550 nm. The light responsivity and external quantum efficiency are increased by 100 times those of SiAs photodetectors. Our experimental results enrich the research on the IVA-VA group p-type layered semiconductors

The link between occupation and musculo-skeletal disorders has been focused on in numerous research projects, ranging from those simply observing the different pathological findings reported among workers performing particular tasks, down to the latest studies actually quantifying the "exposure" of workers to physical and psycho-social stimuli, Recently, Hagberg et al (11) carried out a critical review of the literature concerning the upper limbs. For some disorders and certain tissues, the authors reported that specific types of work-related exposure are associated with the development of musculo-skeletal pathologies, and that the relative risks for certain types of occupational exposure can be extremely high. This has been proven in relation to tendinitis of the shoulder and hand-wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tense neck syndrome, as well as several localised aspecific musculo-skeletal symptoms, such as pain. For other pathologies, the study reported contradictory results. This is the case for lateral epicondylitis, narrow chest syndrome and cervical radiculopathy. Associations have moreover been observed between several groups of disorders and certain psycho-social factors (e.g. workload, degree of discretionality)
