GLOBALIZATION AND LOCAL STRATEGY: THE IKEA EXPERIENCE IN APULIA

    No full text
The process of economic globalization that has made the markets for goods and services, capital markets and consumption patterns, increasingly interdependent brings the theme of the relationship between marketing and territory into the real world. For marketing, usually we mean the set of tools used by businesses to promote the exchange of goods and services produced in a manner that fully meet the demand expressed by the community living in the area in which they are operating. Applying marketing to a given area therefore means identifying a set of rules for its programming, evaluation and promotion in order to attract consumers and producers to an area and consists of both tangible and intangible factors. The ability to create a process of development is linked not only to having the factors listed above, but also and above all to the ability to make them cohesive, so that the area as a whole has more value than its individual components. In this paper, we show that it is not so much the policy actions undertaken in an area by the institutions, but those of IKEA, which constitutes the reference company, that have contributed to the improvement of the area around Bari where it has chosen to locate

Qualcuno volò dal nido familiare: convivenza o matrimonio? Spagna e Portogallo a confronto

Efficient three dimensional survey techniques and their comparison in open software in the archaelogical test site of “ninfeo maggiore” and “ninfeo minore” of Formia (Latina Italy)

In Europe and beyond, the cultural and archaeological heritage may have considerable extensions of hundreds of square metres if not kilometres. It is then necessary to study highly efficient techniques able , at the same time, to maintain centimetric accuracy. In these contexts, the SLAM technique can be an efficient solution. We tested the latter in a survey of a portion of the so-called Roman Villa of Caposele, also known as Villa Rubino in Formia, (Italy): the "Ninfeo Maggiore"and "Ninfeo Minore"(Major and Minor nymphaeum). The two structures had to be surveyed for both conservation and study purposes and to allow a virtual visit, which is particularly important since they are located inside a private property. The structure is complex, with a succession of rooms and environments in an archaeological complex extending approximately 480 metres in an east-west direction and approximately 50 metres in a south-north direction. We decided to survey both nymphaea with the "GEOSLAM Zeb Horizon", also surveying all the internal connecting rooms and corridors between them. Both nymphaea were also surveyed with a "Faro"terrestrial laser scanning, to allow comparison. To verify the validity of the SLAM on the outside, a survey was carried out using a DJI Matrix drone with laser scanning. The comparison showed very limited deviations whose statistical validation is in progress, demonstrating that the SLAM technique can advantageously be used in such vast archaeological complexes where the efficiency and completeness of the survey is more important than the millimetric accuracy

UAV for monitoring the settlement of a landfill

Remote-pilot aircraft are developing very rapidly and their potential in the various fields is often still to be fully investigated. The possibility to fly over the areas to be surveyed without the need to access the areas themselves makes the use of UAVs in some cases certainly preferable for safety reasons, as has already been tested for the management of postdisaster areas. Waste landfills are small sites where contact with waste itself must be limited and scientific experimentation on surveying this specific type of site is currently limited. The results obtained in other types of sites or infrastructures are not automatically applied to waste landfills due to the specific geometrical characteristics and texture of the images that can be obtained at sites like these. In this work, a test on an exhausted landfill has been carried out with attention to the accurate survey of a large number of control points necessary for a correct assessment of the final geometric accuracy. The use of ground control points and checkpoints has allowed the separate evaluation of precision and accuracy, which are very close to those obtained with the most common methods for these sites, such as laser scanning and total station
