Margarita Kolobova. Kalevala a mosaico
No full textNel “Kalevala”, il poema nazionale finlandese, affiorano con costanza i tratti di una visione del mondo riconducibile al sistema sciamanico di credenze; tale sistema di credenze, pur nella specificità delle sue concezioni, è dotato di una straordinaria flessibilità che lo rende più facilmente adattabile alle esigenze e alle sensibilità personali. Proprio per questa sua natura, il poema si presta particolarmente alle interpretazioni artistiche. A seconda dell’epoca, delle ere, si assiste a una lettura diversa del mito; tra gli artisti contemporanei che si sono cimentati e si cimentano nella visualizzazione del “Kalevala” emerge l’artista russa Margarita Kolobova (1983-). Si analizzano tredici opere kalevaliane dell’artista russa (un’opera grafica, un mosaico, un’incisione, dipinti e sculture), mettendole in specifico rapporto, laddove possibile, con i passi del “Kalevala” a cui fanno riferimento, personalmente tradotti in italiano (con testo originale finlandese a fronte). Attraverso le opere kalevaliane di Margarita Kolobova si affronta dunque il motivo della letteratura dal punto di vista dell’immagine. L’ottica con la quale le opere dell’artista sono interpretate è, principalmente, quella sciamanica, soprattutto per quel che concerne l’analisi del simbolismo. Nelle sue straordinarie visualizzazioni la Kolobova ha saputo mirabilmente attualizzare gli elementi più significativi della visione sciamanica del mondo che di continuo riaffiora nel “Kalevala”: dall’importanza delle origini al motivo iniziatico della lotta, al totemismo animale e così via. La visione che Margarita Kolobova ha del “Kalevala” è una visione a mosaico; il senso della frammentazione espresso da questo tratto peculiare dello stile ritrova poi sempre, nella visione d’insieme, una ricomposizione. Tra i tratti peculiari della visione e delle visualizzazioni dell’artista russa si sottolinea la presenza costante, nei dipinti di diretta ispirazione kalevaliana, della natura (partecipe e animata), vero eroe del poema nazionale finlandese per l’artista. Attraverso le sue interpretazioni personali e assai suggestive, Margarita Kolobova avvicina il mito, lo attualizza e lo fa diventare parte della realtà

The MoMu grid: Towards a complementary analysis of Movements and Music elements during the interactions among toddlers
No full textIn recent years research on musical development underlines the
presence of musicality in the vocal gestures especially, but not only,
in the child/mother interactions (Stern 1985, Papousěk H. &
Papousěk M. 1996, Trevarthen & Malloch 2000, Nakata & Trehub
2004, Imberty 2009). Instead the research on the movement
analysis puts largely attention on the dance movements, the role of
the body during the performance or on the rhythmic analysis, and
the few studies on the movements of very young children are for
therapeutic aims. The aim of the study, introduced in this paper, is
to investigate the role of the body and voice in the early interactions
among toddlers and the way used by them to communicate. A grid
to analyze the correlation voice/movement was created using the
Motor Laban theory: the MoMu Grid. To create the grid, we
collected the video of the observations carried out with 15 children
of 14 months old in two nursery schools in Bologna. The children
were divided in 3 groups and they were free to move and play. All
sessions were recorded with two cameras: one was steady, while the
other was mobile. All data collected are analyzed using the MoMu
grid: to observe the movements we used several elements of the
Laban categories: energy, flow, spatial dimension, and especially
the concept of “effort”. To analyze the musical characteristics of
vocal gestures (pitch, intensity, rhythm, etc) we used the grid
created in our previous study to observe the used of the voice during
the daily routine (Ferrari & Addessi 2009)

No full textIn 1923 the sculptor Francesco Paolo Como (Taranto, 1888-Rome, 1973) wins the contest for the Monumento ai caduti in Taranto. As known, the realization of this work suffers many delays because of tension between the author and the various committees. Only in 1953, the last group, the Aquilifero, can be set up. The article analyses the sequence of events related to the monument through a series of missives between Como and his mentor Ettore Ferrari (Rome, 1845-1929). Through this correspondence is possible to write a clearer history of the monument and his author, explaining the reasons of Como’s anxiety, his relationship with Ferrari and his social role into the ‘fascistissima’ Taranto

widely quoted by the scholars who study the history of South Caucasus at the time
of the first Russian Revolution in 1905. After a short introduction about the interest-
ing figure of this author, the first part of the article will take into consideration Villari’s
peculiar attitude toward the Armenians. The larger part of the article will consider his
first-hand description of the massacres perpetrated by the Azeris (Tartars) in the region
of Nakhichevan. As a matter of fact, Luigi Villari’s testimony of the tragic events of 1905
is more interesting than ever to understand the origins of a contrast that continues—
even if in a deeply different situation—to stain with blood the relationship between Armenians and the South Caucasian Turks
