Political and Social Implications of Changes in Rock Music in Prague Since the Late 1960's

    No full text
Music has played an important role in the political and social developments in former Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic over the past 40 years. The underground movement that was born during the 1960's and 1970's and its younger cousin the alternativa movement have had a substantial impact on the perception of Czech society and its political scene as well as influenced several generations of listeners. It is often considered to have heavily contributed to the events leading up to the Velvet Revolution. In the 1980's, it drew criticism from the state for facets such as language. The 1990's brought a vast amount of international music and commercialization, though it is important to note underground trading of international music was very strong even before the Velvet Revolution. Czech music may have shifted toward an apolitical role, but the power of musical movements have been proven by the lessons of the past. The political role may be have been inadvertent, but no t inert. Its role is to be taken into consideration in the events that took place during up until 1989. The purpose of this paper is to attempt to better understand the role of music in Czech society, specifically the underground movement, in its effect on society and politics

V současnosti rozeznáváme tři faktory (ovladače) indické strategie v této oblasti - bezpečnosti a strategické nezbytnosti, energetické diverzifikace dané bohatstvím přírodních zdrojů Střední Asie, hospodářská angažovanost a konektivita. Abstract This dissertation aims to identify the drivers and determinants of Indian strategy and policy with regard to the five post-Soviet, Central Asian states of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan within a geopolitical framework. Contemporary scholarship recognizes three determinants (drivers) of Indian strategy in the region - security and strategic necessity, energy diversification given Central Asia's abundant natural resources, and, economic engagement and connectivity. Using this identification as a stepping-stone, the dissertation seeks to rest the validity of these assumptions, and explore these determinants in detail. In addition, it attempts to identify other determinants of Indian strategy, and offers a conceptual framework through which...Department of Political ScienceKatedra politologieFaculty of Social SciencesFakulta sociálních vě

    Measurement of the energy dependence of the e + e − → BB¯ , BB¯ ∗ and B∗B¯ ∗ exclusive cross sections

    No full text
We report the first measurement of the exclusive cross sections e+e− → BB¯ , e+e− → BB¯ ∗, and e+e− → B∗B¯ ∗ in the energy range from 10.63 GeV to 11.02 GeV. The B mesons are fully reconstructed in a large number of hadronic final states and the three channels are identified using a beam-constrained-mass variable. The shapes of the exclusive cross sections show oscillatory behavior with several maxima and minima. The results are obtained using data collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. [Figure not available: see fulltext.] © 2021, The Author(s)

Search for tetraquark states Xccs¯s¯ in Ds+Ds+(Ds*+Ds*+) final states at Belle

    No full text
A search for double-heavy tetraquark state candidates Xccs¯s¯ decaying to Ds+Ds+ and Ds∗+Ds∗+ is presented for the first time using the data samples of 102×106 ϒ(1S) and 158×106 ϒ(2S) events, and the data samples at s=10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV corresponding to integrated luminosities of 89.5, 711.0, and 121.4 fb-1, respectively, accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The invariant-mass spectra of the Ds+Ds+ and Ds∗+Ds∗+ are studied to search for possible resonances. No significant signals are observed, and the 90% confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions [B(ϒ(1S,2S)→Xccs¯s¯+anything)×B(Xccs¯s¯→Ds+Ds+(Ds∗+Ds∗+))] in ϒ(1S,2S) inclusive decays and the product values of Born cross section and branching fraction [σ(e+e-→Xccs¯s¯+anything)×B(Xccs¯s¯→Ds+Ds+(Ds∗+Ds∗+))] in e+e- collisions at s=10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV under different assumptions of Xccs¯s¯ masses and widths are obtained. © 2022 authors. Search for charged lepton flavor violating decays of ϒ (1S)

    No full text
We present a search for the charged lepton-flavor-violating decays ϒ(1S) →ℓ±ℓ′∓ and radiative charged lepton-flavour-violating decays ϒ(1S) → γℓ±ℓ′∓ [ℓ,ℓ′ = e, μ, τ] using the 158 million ϒ(2S) sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. This search uses ϒ(1S) mesons produced in ϒ(2S) → π+π− ϒ(1S) transitions. We do not find any significant signal, so we provide upper limits on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level. Islamic Radical Movements in Egypt and the UK

    No full text
In this work the author will try to analyze the major alterations of Islamic radical organizations in Egypt and its world network after 11th of September 2001 and 7th of June 2005 on the base of wide list of sources. In this thesis will be used the sources related to the ideology of "The Society of Muslim Brotherhood" and radical organization "Al-Jihad". In this paper the author attempts to investigate the activities of radical organizations after the year 2001 by means 15 of the deep media research. But what is more important the influence of last decade's events on Muslim Diaspora around the world, and in United Kingdom particularly. The main papers to be studied are chosen "The Guardian", "The Times" and "The Daily Telegraph" which suppose to give a clear understanding of changes occurred. The choice of papers was also driven by the need to have got a picture of public attitude towards Muslims. It is know that "The Guardian" represents the point of view of liberals, "The Times" is independent, and "The daily Telegraph" represents right wing. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org

Combined analysis of Belle and Belle II data to determine the CKM angle ϕ3 using B+ → D(KS0 {K}_S^0 h+h−)h+ decays

    No full text
We present a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle angle ϕ3 (also known as γ) using a model-independent Dalitz plot analysis of B+ → D (KS0h+h−)h+, where D is either a D0 or D¯ 0 meson and h is either a π or K. This is the first measurement that simultaneously uses Belle and Belle II data, combining samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 711 fb−1 and 128 fb−1, respectively. All data were accumulated from energy-asymmetric e+e− collisions at a centre-of-mass energy corresponding to the mass of the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure ϕ3 = (78.4 ± 11.4 ± 0.5 ± 1.0)°, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is from the uncertainties on external measurements of the D-decay strong-phase parameters.
