Dr Samuel S Curry
Doctor Samuel S. Curry, a dentist, had his office in the Coe Building on Turner Street. He sold home on Manatee Avenue to Mr. Roesch in November 1902. His wife was the daughter of Samuel McCormick of South Carolina. She died in Jacksonville, in August 1908, at the home of her sister, Mrs. W.H. Barrett. By September of 1909, Dr. Curry had moved to Sarasota and opened an office there
S. S. Curry 116558
The "S. S. Curry" was built at West Bay City, Michigan in 1893 by F. W. Wheeler. She was built of steel and was of 3931 gross tons. This picture shows her at the upper river ore dock in 1936 when she was owned by the Columbian Transportation Company. She had four owners and three name changes: "Elmore" (1921 - 1922); "P. W. Sherman" (1922 - 1926); and "E. G. Mathiott" (1926 - 1937). She was scrapped in 1937
