Religious doctrine in the works of Mikhail Bulgakov (with special reference to Belaia Gvardiia, Beg and master I Margarita)
This thesis will examine the works of Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov with special reference to Belaia gvardiia. Beg, and Master i Margarita. It shall be shown that Russian Orthodox Doctrine can provide a cohesive whole for his works, uniting them on a 'spiritual' level. At first an assessment will be made of the extent to which Bulgakov was a believing Christian, then the following examination of his works will be divided into the Divine and the Human, beginning with an examination of the Devil. The nature of Christ and God will then be considered and be shown to correspond on may levels with the tenets of Doctrine. In the second half, man and his relationship to God will be discussed, showing that the mortal condition of man and his attempts to come close to God are of importance to Bulgakov. Finally, his portrayal of man’s progression through judgement to the attainment of Salvation will be considered, showing that, despite some deviations, Bulgakov's artistic ideas are founded in Doctrine
S. Bulgakov et la question juive
Nikita Struve, S. Bulgakov and the Jewish problem.
Sergej Bulgakov, the greatest religious Russian thinker of the twentieth century expressed four times his ideas as regard the Jewish problem: in 1906, he is indignant because Marx reduced the problem to a "matter of money"; in 1915, he approves the idea of the return of Jews to Palestine; in 1921, he blames the Jews for their massive participation in the Bolshevik power and the destruction of the Russian soul; finally, in 1941, he condemns vigorously the national-socialist racism and repression. In Russia, in the future, the "voluntarist" Jew and the "passive" Russian should live together, conscious of their necessary complementary character while awaiting the execution of Pauline promise according to which, at the very end "all Israel will be saved".Nikita Struve, S. Bulgakov et la question juive.
“Philosophy of the Name” by S. Bulgakov (Cogytological Interpretation)
The paper focuses on the interpretation of the basic linguophilosophical views of S.N. Bulgakov set out in his work Philosophy of the Name (1920, 1953). Philosopher and theologian S.N. Bulgakov expresses opinions on the essence of a word from the point of view of cogitology. The author interprets S.N. Bulgakov's explanations of such integrative terms as "word-thought", "logos" and "sound word". S.N. Bulgakov declares that a word is equated to an enlightened logos as a unity of words and thoughts, words and deeds, words and things. According to the philosopher, the meaning of a word is an idea embodied in the sound form of a word. In speech, the word-meaning turns into a word-thought. A thought comes true due to a speech-word. Language as a means of expression exists in its complete form long before the act of its designation. A thing is revealed in its name. The article also reveals the views of S.N. Bulgakov on words from the root, verbs-linker and pronouns that do not have their own content. The author believes that the results of the analysis in the article can enrich our ideas about language as an instrument of naming, designation and expression (cognitive aspect), and as a means of speech activity (communicative aspect)
The theory of sifting the soil mass when cleaning potatoes on a spiral separator
The removal of soil and impurities is an important problem when harvesting potatoes. and the main reason for this problem is due to the modalities employed to carry out the potatoes mechanical harvesting. The equipments currently implemented on potato harvesters do not always allow to obtain high levels of soil and impurities separation, mainly due to the gluing of the moist soil to the surfaces of the separating organs. The authors have developed a spiral separator of soil clods from potatoes heaps, patented in Ukraine. The purpose of this paper has been to analyze the theory of sifting the soil mass when a spiral separator is used. A mathematical model of the motion of an elementary body along the spiral surface of a potato heap separator has been built. The numerical solution of the model has highlighted that the lowest angular speed (10 rad s-1) of the cleaning rollers allows the greatest amount of sifted soil mass. Field tests carried out confirmed that the developed spiral separator is able to perform the task achieving meaningful values of the efficiency of separation and heap purity. Further field and laboratory tests will be executed in order to improve the set up mathematical model
S. N. Bulgakov`s religio-political quest (1905–1917): from «the autocracy of antichrist» to «the theocracy of white tsar»
The article is based on the thesis of the Russian thinker, social and religious figure, S. N. Bulgakov, that the religious aspect of life is inextricably linked to all aspects of human activity and defines their essential content. A political aspect had a particular interest. Bulgakov`s political position remains understudied. Dramatic changes have occurred with Bulgakov`s attitude to the Russian autocracy in 1905–1917, as can be seen in his declarations, that had a political significance. At the same time the religious sentiment of the philosopher changed. It left a painted in tones of a Christian idealism for the sake of «the faith of the fathers», Orthodox faith. This evolution was not without Bulgakov`s original features that are rooted in his early revolutionism: this «symphony» is characteristic in apocalyptic features. Not surprisingly, the political events of 1917 provoked the apocalyptic experience
DOGMA AND ANTINOMY IN THE PHILOSOPHY OF SERGEY BULGAKOV
This article examines the thought of Bulgakov as regards the dogmatic formulation of the council of Chalcedon as well as his thoughts on the Holy Eucharist. The author wishes to describe the difficult path which Bulgakov followed to arrive at his understanding of the most fundamental points of Christian doctrine and during the course of which he was initially fascinated and later disenchanted by Roman Catholicism. This rather short period, usually known by the name of the Crimean Philosophy of Bulgakov, is one of the key moments in the whole of his activity and provided the final impetus for his turn to Sophiology. The author of this article describes how the return of Bulgakov to Russian Orthodoxy was accompanied by the philosopher’s rediscovery of Sophiology. Sophiology was interpreted by Bulgakov as relieving the existing antinomy between two opposing principles in both the mystery of the Eucharist and the mystery of the Incarnation, between the divine and the mortal. The problem of the consecration of the holy gifts was met and resolved by Bulgakov in the domain of Christology and more precisely in the doctrine of the body of Christ: the earthly or material body and the glorifi ed body, the reality of Christ’s body up until the Resurrection and after the Resurrection. This teaching about the relationship between the two realities of the corporality of Christ was little studied in Orthodoxy Theology before Bulgakov. It was interpreted by Bulgakov in the light of his Sophiology: the Incarnation as the absolute realization in human form of the divine sophiological prototype. The author of this article concludes that Bulgakov’s use of Sophiology provided him with a way to oppose and overcome Kant’s transcendentalism. Thus, it became one of the major facets of Russian Philosoph
Mathematical model of the movement of a potato body along the surface of a spiral separator
The potato is grown in over one hundred countries spread over all latitudes, with the most diverse climatic conditions, from the areas near the Arctic Circle to the southern end of the South American continent. The potato is an irreplaceable component of the food tradition of many countries and is the most cultivated species after cereals (wheat, rice and corn). The authors set up and developed a new clod and rubbish spiral separator for potatoes, which is protected by the patent of Ukraine. The operation modalities of this machine are briefly described in the paper. The aim of this study is the development of a mathematical model concerning the movement of a potato body along the surface the spiral separator. In particular, equations are found for determining the coordinates of the position of a potato tuber on the surface of a spiral separator depending on the parameters of the spiral (spiral line) and the size of the tuber. Furthermore, the velocity of tuber movement in the stream formed by the surfaces of two neighboring spirals in the direction of the horizontal, vertical and longitudinal axis are determined. The results of this study will be used in the future to analytically considering the dynamics of movement of a potato tuber on the surface of a spiral separator, taking into account the conditions that exclude its damage
Study on propagation regularity of harmonic waves in periodic structures of beams
The wide application of elements with periodic configuration in dynamically loaded structures stimulates a study of the propagation phenomenon of harmonic waves in mechanical systems of a periodic structure. The absolute majority of investigations of the wave propagation phenomenon in periodic structures concern one-dimensional and quasi-one-dimensional systems. Therefore, it is of certain interest to study the regularities in the distribution of the "transparency windows" of a mechanical system of a periodic structure with continuously changing parameters, which can be obtained by passing through the limit from the corresponding system with the threshold-type irregularities. Besides, the non-homogeneity in these systems is of a discrete, i.e. threshold type. The article presents the research results of propagation of harmonic waves along unfixed beams of a periodic structure. In addition two beam configurations are considered: with a constant cross section in individual segments and a continuous change in the cross section along the beam axis. The solution of the two problems has been made on the basis of the Floquet theory. As a result of the solution of this problem, frequency bands of the waves for both types of beams were found, and a comparative analysis of their propagation was carried out
Experimental study of the implement-and-tractor aggregate used for laying tracks of permanent traffic lanes inside controlled traffic farming systems
Traffic-induced soil compaction is a serious drawback of modern agriculture. However, controlled traffic farming (CTF) systems, which have been adopted worldwide, are useful strategies of lessening this problem. In CTF systems, the crop zone is clearly separated from the permanent traffic lanes (PTL), which are used exclusively for the movement of the machine-and-tractor aggregates. The CTF systems are implemented both with and without the use of the GPS systems. When navigation-aid is not used, the first positioning of the PTL tracks is an essential operation, in which the aggregate intended for this task must perform a sufficiently straight movement. This paper reports the assessments concerning the PTL tracks laid by an experimental aggregate, which consisted of a four-wheel drive tractor and a tillage implement operating in the “push” mode. This aggregate formed tracks with a sufficiently small dispersion (10.30 cm2) and a fairly low (not more than 0.09 Hz) frequency of their fluctuations in a horizontal plane. Furthermore, during the tests, a rather close positive correlation between the bearing angle φ of the tractor and the turning angle α of its driven wheels was registered and the maximum value of the related correlation function was 0.9. Moreover, the phase (time) shift between the disturbing torque and the response to it by the tractor operator did not exceed 0.75 s. The use of the proposed aggregate allowed laying tracks with a depth of 21.2 ± 0.3 cm and vibrations in a longitudinal vertical plane, whose dispersion was not more than 2 cm2 and was concentrated in a fairly narrow frequency range from 0 to 1.78 Hz
