No full textEste trabajo quiere investigar la importancia en la enseñanza de una lengua extranjera, del componente intercultural y del componente no verbal en forma contrastiva. Betti nos explica que no es posible reducir el aprendizaje de un idioma extranjero solo a las estructuras de la lengua o al código verbal, ya que la comunicación entre seres humanos no depende exclusivamente del uso del sistema lingüístico, sino también de la activación de toda una serie de códigos no verbales que contribuyen a la construcción del mensaje que pasa entre emisor y destinatario

No full textThis essay presents the current status of Spanish 'in' and 'of' the United States and discusses the popularly called
phenomenon known as –Spanglish- through the reflections of several scholars on the subject. The literature in
linguistics has acknowledged that what in lay terms people call Spanglish, relies on code-switching and codemixing,
switches and mixtures which can also be described as characteristics of the hybrid identity of many U.S.
Latinos. In this paper I examine this phenomenon of Spanglish from the perspective of mixed identities in
intercultural contexts. Finally, I reflect on some significant points to try to deepen and better understand the
complex situation of Spanish and the much commented on phenomena surrounding the use of Spanglish in this
country

Cultivating urban landscapes: horticulture
No full textFor a long time urban horticulture has represented a marginal activity generally for the elderly, after their retirement or as a part-time activity, as opposed to a main economic activity. However, in the context of post-modern society, horticulture is becoming more popular and more visible, as an activity with educational or rehabilitation purposes or as a hobby for highly motivated gardeners, individual or groups, with no previous experience but keen to experiment with cultivating practices. The interest in urban gardening has grown considerably, assuming many forms and characteristics in different contexts both at global and local levels. The phenomenon seems to be a response to a wide range of needs that goes well beyond the production of food, as it often contributes to promote social inclusion, as well as protection and restoration of urban green areas. For many people taking care of a vegetable patch or a garden is a great way to rediscover their bond with nature, to let off steam and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. At the same time allotment gardens become a meeting place for the elderly or turn into an outdoor classroom where children can discover nature's way of teaching. Even more important perhaps is when vegetable gardens are located in healthcare facilities and used for their therapeutic function, thus providing support and motivation during treatment or rehabilitation. And so it seems as though garden plots are becoming a bottom-up strategy to combat the limitations and paradoxes of the current economic model

No full textL’analisi incrociata dei materiali scultorei, delle tre abbazie più importanti della Langobardia Maior, del ducato di Spoleto e del ducato di Benevento rispettivamente S. Salvatore di Brescia, S. Maria di Farfa e S. Vincenzo al Volturno, svolta in parallelo con la lettura delle fonti documentarie dei tre complessi monastici – le cui vicende sono strettamente intrecciate in particolare nelle date del lungo regno di Desiderio (756-774) – ha portato nuovi dati a conforto del riconoscimento di un processo di osmosi culturale che coinvolse tutti i territori della penisola nel corso dell’VIII secolo.
