    An account book kept by Simon Elliot, Sr. and his son, Simon Elliot, Jr. for sales of snuff and tobacco from their store on 51 State Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The first page includes the details of the partnership between Simon Elliot, Sr. and his son. The major portion of the journal, pages 1-76, records sales of snuff and tobacco, and includes both individuals, such as a female customer, Joanna Winslow, and firms such as Andrew Ritchie & Son. The remaining section of the volume, pages 77-91, consists of cash settlements and personal accounts of the Elliots. The rest of the volume contains blank pages

    De reciente publicación, el libro "Swinging City: A cultural geography of London. 1950-1974", del geógrafo británico Simon Rycroft, desanda la construcción de esta recurrente figura en las representaciones de la Londres de posguerra. Para esto, realiza un recorrido espacio-temporal que comienza en los años cincuenta, lejos de la capital británica, con el análisis de algunos movimientos literarios contestatarios de la costa oeste norteamericana y de las ciudades y los pueblos obreros del interior británico. Se trata de unos largos sesenta que culminan en 1974, en una Londres subterránea que se debate entre el activismo artístico de una contracultura militante y las manifestaciones menos escenificadas del activismo estudiantil de izquierda. Por otra parte, el espacio, presente como categoría fundamental de análisis por las imaginaciones que evoca y por los intercambios que alberga su materialidad, excede en este trabajo el estudio de la experiencia urbana.
