Dopo la monografia sul tema dell'itticoltura nell'antichità che conteneva l'analisi territoriale di sette peschiere nel tratto di costa dell'Etruria meridionale, si è da più parti auspicata la redazione di un lavoro esaustivo, finalizzato a conferire agli impianti di piscicoltura del litorale tirrenico una importanza peculiare che, finora, è stata loro negata. Si sta dando corso quindi a questo nuovo studio, distinto in due fasi. In primo luogo è stato elaborato un censimento dei complessi ancora oggi esi- stenti, non ancora riconosciuti o purtroppo cancellati dai drastici interventi compiuti sul litorale, ma dei quali restano tracce nella bibliografia, nelle immagini d'epoca o nella letteratura antica. Nella maggior parte dei casi è stata redatta una documentazione grafica in scala 1:100 con la caratterizzazione dei particolari tecnico-costruttivi. Si propongono, infine, due esempi di peschiere, prive per ora dell'apparato critico e dell'indagine storico-archivistica che confluiranno nella prossima monografia.Rustico Letizia. Peschiere romane. No full textBetween April and October 2016, the excavation at Piazza Albania – on Aventine hill – brought to
light five floor layers belonging to a residential complex. The first layer consisted of four mosaics decorated
with black-and-white geometric motifs dated back to Hadrian period on the base of archaeological
finds. The second level was a mosaic fragment with an inscription, unfortunately very incomplete. It
was interpreted as a dedication offered by a religious congregation from Trajan period. Furthermore, there
are two other “cocciopesto” floors dated between the end of the 1st century AD and the age of Nero. To the
Augustan period was dated the last layer of pavements discovered in this excavation. All floors had a
surface cracking due to a subsidence phenomenon and all over one there was a circular trace, perhaps an
anthropogenic sinkhole. Archival documents and geo-archaeological investigations prove the presence of
tuff quarries beneath the Aventine hill. These underground cavities could be the cause of the structural
failure over the pavements

No full textThe author studies several aspects of the roman branch of this association of athletes: the location of its headquarters in the city, its history and its administration. The synodos was somehow connected with the sympas xystos, headed by xystarchai and epi balaneion Sebastou or Sebaston. The author studies the functions of these magistrates in connection with the organization of the Imperial Bath in Rome. The author argues that the xystarchai, appointed by the Emperor, may have been in charge of the athletes, while the epi balaneion were responsible for the place where athletics were performed
