Management delle imprese turistiche. L'innovazione nelle realtà locali
No full textI testi che si occupano di management delle imprese turistiche contengono, oltre ai principi cardine di carattere prettamente teorico, anche una numerosa serie di "casi aziendali" relativi alle tematiche trattate.
Analizzandoli, quello che maggiormente colpisce è che, in genere, riguardano imprese di grandi dimensioni, spesso con valenza globale, di stampo principalmente anglosassone, la cui gestione e attività possono essere molto lontane dalle realtà locali - dove il termine locale non si riferisce necessariamente alla dimensione dell'impresa - che costituiscono la maggior parte delle imprese turistiche italiane.
Una delle principali motivazioni alla base della decisione di porre all'attenzione degli studiosi, degli studenti dei corsi di management del turismo, dei formatori, degli imprenditori del settore il tema delle realtà locali sta dunque nel dare spazio, voce e visibilità all'operare di tali imprese.
Le piccole dimensioni, il localismo, non vogliono dire non poter competere, non poter essere presenti sui mercati internazionali o non poter esprimere un management all'altezza delle stimolanti sfide che l'impresa deve sostenere.
Il nostro è un Paese nel quale il tessuto connettivo del sistema imprenditoriale è costituito dalle piccole e medie imprese, non solo nel settore turistico, e questa è una delle principali motivazioni del successo del sistema-Italia
G-Quadruplexes in Human Viruses: A Promising Route to Innovative Antiviral Therapies
No full textViral infections have repeatedly affected human health throughout history, with severe consequences on the well-being of societies. While effective antibacterial activity has been reached with antibiotics, the development of successful antiviral drugs remains challenging, because of the extremely high rates of virus mutations and the frequent outbreaks of new virus species in the human population. Therefore, identification of new strategies to target viruses and the consequent diseases is urgent. G-quadruplexes (G4s) are recognized key regulatory nucelic acids structures in eukaryotic cells. The development of advanced algorithms for G4 prediction greatly expanded research in the G4 field across different species, including viruses. In the past years, increasing evidence showed that the genome of almost all human viruses is enriched in conserved G4-forming sequences, the distribution of which is statistically relevant and distinctive for each virus family. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Viral G-quadruplexes: New frontiers in virus pathogenesis and antiviral therapy
Full text linkViruses are the most abundant organisms on our planet, affecting all living beings: some of them are responsible for massive epidemics that concern health, national economies and the overall welfare of societies. Although advances in antiviral research have led to successful therapies against several human viruses, still some of them cannot be eradicated from the host and most of them do not have any treatment available. Consequently, innovative antiviral therapies are urgently needed. In the past few years, research on G-quadruplexes (G4s) in viruses has boomed, providing powerful evidence for the regulatory role of G4s in key viral steps. Comprehensive bioinformatics analyses have traced putative G4-forming sequences in the genome of almost all human viruses, showing that their distribution is statistically significant and their presence highly conserved. Since the genomes of viruses are remarkably variable, high conservation rates strongly suggest a crucial role of G4s in the viral replication cycle and evolution, emphasizing the possibility of targeting viral G4s as a new pharmacological approach in antiviral therapy. Recent studies have demonstrated the formation and function of G4s in pathogens responsible for serious diseases, such as HIV-1, Hepatitis B and C, Ebola viruses, to cite a few. In this chapter, we present the state of the art on the structural and functional characterization of viral G4s in RNA viruses, DNA viruses and retroviruses. We also present the G4 ligands that provide further details on the viral G4 role and which, showing promising antiviral activity, which could be exploited for the development of innovative antiviral agents

Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Lo sviluppo turistico e la qualità dell'offerta dei servizi extralberghieri in Puglia. Case vacanze e B&B: il Caso Bari
No full textNell'ultimo decennio l’incremento dei flussi turistici in Puglia è stato affiancato dal grande sviluppo dell'ospitalità extralberghiera, chiamato anche "fenomeno Airbnb". In Italia ha avuto una forte crescita e in pochi anni è aumentato del 78,3% rispetto al 2016 (Federalberghi, 2018) con una distribuzione diversificata sul territorio nazionale. La Puglia, insieme a Lombardia, Lazio, Sicilia e Toscana, è una delle regioni in cui il fenomeno della "sharing hospitality" ed extra-hotel è più diffuso. Bari, città ai primi posti per presenze e arrivi in regione, ha visto un’evoluzione del fenomeno turistico locale grazie alla crescita passeggeri del locale aeroporto (con il fenomeno “low cost” e “short breaks”) e del porto
(per il moltiplicarsi di arrivi di croceristi). A tali risultati inoltre hanno concorso sia l’efficace promozione delle istituzioni locali anche attraverso i social, sia la coincidenza della domanda dei “nuovi turisti” con l’autentica offerta culturale ed enogastronomica del territorio. La tipologia di arrivi, un tempo quasi esclusivamente caratterizzati dal segmento business e MICE, si è così ampliata, mutando radicalmente.
Il presente lavoro, a partire dall’analisi della domanda e dell’offerta turistica nella città di Bari
(stagionalità, flussi turistici per tipologia ricettiva, aree di provenienza dei turisti, tassi di occupazione, servizi offerti, condizioni e tariffe relative ai servizi), intende evidenziare alcuni aspetti critici e strategici per l’offerta del settore. La ricerca che si avvale di dati quantitativi e qualitativi sulla destinazione Bari relativi alle strutture ricettive extralberghiere più “professionali” (case vacanze e bed& breakfast), consente di individuare le criticità collegate ai nodi tematici di management del “vacation rental industry”. Ciò al fine di concorrere all’obiettivo di qualificare l’offerta turistica in tutte le sue componenti e di costruire un sistema turistico locale capace di sviluppo duraturo a cui il capoluogo regionale intende ambire
