This thesis examines the effectiveness of a digital intervention created to support change of unwanted digital habits. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the ScreenZen app on several variables related to excessive mobile phone use, including problematic phone use, sensitivity to cues pro and against use, perception of phone use as a habit, screen time, fear of missing out (FoMO), and overall positive and negative affect. Additionally, user satisfaction with their phone use and the perceived usefulness of individual ScreenZen features were also assessed. The study used randomized controlled trial design, with the experimental group using the ScreenZen app and the active control group following a control condition that verbally replicated the app's functions. A significant time effect, meaning improvement in post intervention measures compared to pre intervention measures, was observed across most variables, indicating improvement over time in the entire sample, without significant differences between experimental and control group. Although none of the hypotheses were confirmed, users evaluated the app as beneficial and user-friendly. Therefore, ScreenZen cannot be considered superior to control intervention, but it may serve as an easily accessible tool for supporting digital..

Cílem teoretické části bylo představení a vymezení konceptu well-beingu z pohledu nejznámějších teorií a popsat co konkrétně definuje well-being vysokoškolských studentů. Výzkum probíhal formou randomizované kontrolované studie, přičemž experimentální skupina používala zmíněnou aplikaci a aktivní kontrolní skupina plnila kontrolní podmínku, jež slovně kopírovala funkce aplikace.

Teoretická část zahrnuje představení vybraných metod současného recruitmentu (náboru) a teoretické využití psychologických poznatků v tomto procesu. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována využití psychologických nástrojů a konceptů u náborářů s psychologickým a jiným vzděláním. Práce bude zpracována pomocí kvalitativní metodologie, konkrétně zjišťováním obecně teoretických postupů a konkrétního provedení u jednotlivých náborářů. Sběr dat bude probíhat prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s jednotlivými pracovníky dané náborové...Katedra psychologiePedagogická fakultaFaculty of Educatio

Validation of trauma measurement tool: PTSD Checklist for DSM-5

    Get PDF
This thesis focuses on the initial validation of the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5) in its Czech version. It is a self-report method that measures symptoms accompanying posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The theoretical part of the thesis describes the development of the diagnosis of PTSD over time and its current criteria. It also presents a list of diagnostic tools for measuring PTSD, including the PCL-5 and its psychometric properties. The research part of the thesis describes the process of data collection and processing, the results of the hypotheses and discussion. The research sample consisted of 444 respondents (370 women; 74 men) with a mean age of 32,6 years (SD = 10,6). The mean PCL-5 score was 29,3 (SD = 19,9). When comparing the scores of women (M = 30,2; SD = 20) and men (M = 24,7; SD = 18,8), a statistically significant difference was observed (p = 0,029). When comparing respondents who were psychiatric patients (PP; M = 39,5; SD = 20) and those who were not (M = 21,7; SD = 16,6), a significant difference (p < 0,001) was also observed. In case of comparison of respondents by gender who were not PP, no statistically significant difference was confirmed. Cronbach's alpha for the whole questionnaire came out high: 0,955 (for clusters ranging from 0,831-0,908), which is consistent..
