The plasma membrane potential and secondary transport systems in all eukaryotes are energized by the activity of P-type ATPase membrane proteins: H + ATPase (the proton pump) in plants and fungi and Na +, K +- ATPase (the sodium-potassium pump) in animals. The overall shape of proton pumps has been revealed by electron microscopy. The crystal structure of AHA2, a plasma membrane H +-ATPase isoform of Arabidopsis thaliana, by X-ray crystallography at 3.6 Å was available. The isoform is expressed mainly in root. In the present study homology modeling along with transmembrane topology predictions has been used to build the atomic model of AHA1, another plasma membrane H +-ATPase isoform of Arabidopsis thaliana expressing in both root and shoot. Pattern of Cancer in Nepal from 2003 to 2011

It is one of the main causes of death. The environmental factor and life styles are major causes of cancer.This hospital based retrospective study was carried out using data retrieved from the register maintained at seven cancer centers. The most common basis of diagnosis were microscopic (histopathological and cytopathological examination). The diagnosis was also based on clinical examination, radiological examination, endoscopy, biochemical and immunological tests.Most of the cancer cases were diagnosed at BPKMCH (23908) followed by BPKIHS (9668) and BH (5959) and few cases from KCH (518) in 2003 to 2011. The total number of cancer cases were increasing from 2003 to 2011 and it become double in 2011. Out of 75 district of Nepal, more number of cancer cases was found in Kathmandu, Sunsari, Morang, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Jhapa, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Rupendehi and Kavrepalchowk in 2010. Similarly, in 2011 more number of cancer cases was found in Kathmandu, Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Rupendehi, Kaski, Saptari, Bhaktapur. Lung cancer was the common cancer and similarly, other prevalent cancers were cervical, breast, stomach, ovarian and colo-rectum cancer in 2003 to 2011. The common cancers were lung, cervical, breast, stomach, ovarian and colo-rectum. The number of patients is increasing, which may be due to change in life style and lack of education

Dosimetric study of RapidArc plans with flattened beam (FB) and flattening filter-free (FFF) beam for localized prostate cancer based on physical indices
Purpose: To identify the continual diversity between flattening photon beam (FB) and Flattening Filter Free (FFF) photon beams for localized prostate cancer; and to determine potential benefits and drawbacks of using unflattened beam for this type of treatment.Methods: Eight prostate cases including seminal vesicles selected for this study. The primary planning target volume (PTVP) and boost planning target volume (PTVB) were contoured. The total prescription dose was 78 Gy (56 Gy to PTVP and an additional 22 Gy to PTVB). For all cases, treatment plans using 6MV with FB and FFF beams with identical dose-volume constraints, arc angles and number of arcs were developed. The dose volume histograms for both techniques were compared for primary target volume and critical structures.Results: A low Sigma index (FFF: 1.65 + 0.361; FB: 1.725 + 0.39) indicating improved dose homogeneity in FFF beam. Conformity index (FFF: 0.994 + 0.01; FB: 0.993 + 0.01) is comparable for both techniques. Minimal difference of Organ at risk mean dose was observed. Normal tissue integral dose in FB plan resulted 1.5% lower than FFF plan. All the plans displayed significant increase (1.18 times for PTVP and 1.11 for PTBB) in the average number of necessary MU with FFF beam.Conclusion: Diversity between FB and FFF beam plans were found. FFF beam accelerator has been utilized to develop clinically acceptable Rapid Arc treatment plans for prostate cancer with 6 MV.---------------------------------Cite this article as: Rout BK, Muralidhar KR, Ali M, Shekar MC, Kumar A. Forecasting and classification of Indian stocks using different polynomial functional link artificial neural networks
Efficient One-pot Synthesis of 4 Hydroxy-2H Chromene by heterogeneously catalyzed ZnO NP and mesoporous aluminosilicate catalysts in solvent free condition.
4Hydroxy-2H Chromenes are fused benzopyran rings, an important class of biologically active compounds, widely used as antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, and anticancer agents. In this present paper, we report the 4 Hydroxy-2H Chromenes synthesis by using two catalysts namely, (i) ZnO nanoparticles and (ii) mesoporous ZnO/AlSBA-15 (7) catalysts. The ZnO NP catalyst was prepared by using leaf extract while ZnO/AlSBA-15(7) catalysts were prepared by the wet chemical route. All catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, FTIR, and N2 sorption techniques. The catalytic activity of the synthesized catalyst was evaluated in the one-pot reaction using aromatic aldehyde and Coumarin, and found to be maximum yield of 81% at temperature 80C, a catalyst dose of 10 mmol %, in time limit of 4h.The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page. Quality control test for electronic portal imaging device using QC-3 phantom with PIPSpro
Purpose:A Quality control (QC) test suitable for routinely daily use has been established for electronic portal imaging device (EPID) using PIPSpro software version 4.4 (Standard Imaging, Middleton, WI). It provides an objective and quantitative test for tolerable image quality on the basis of the high contrast spatial resolution, the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and noise.Methods: The test uses a QC-3 phantom consisting of five sets of high contrast rectangular bar patterns with spatial frequeinces of 0.10, 0.20, 0.25, 0.43 and 0.75 lp/mm using 6MV and 15MV photon energy for accquiring high quality images. A “base line” value for the relative square wave modulation transfer function (RMTF), CNR and Noise data was obtained during a one week calibration period and one month test period.Results: Subsequent measurements shows significant deviations from baseline values, resulting in warning messages “potential problems in system performance”. The QC test uses high contrast spatial resolution and CNR for the system with acceptable performance. Conclusion: The method provides an automatic, objective, and sensitive measure of the system's imaging performance. This is a useful implementation during acceptance testing, commissioning, and routine quality control
