She asks if she can get Sissy a pair of shoes, explaining that their Confederate money is worthless in Woodville. She asks him if he gives his permission for Sissy to take music lessons paid for by Brother Howard. She asks Mollie to send her a list of jewelry left behind, including some with locks of hair. She writes that Colonel Cook might accompany her to Brookhaven, mentioning the train schedule. A soldier named Hartwell was in Jackson on sick furlough. Willy Curtiss and Leo joined Cowan\u27s Battery (Company G of the 1st Mississippi Light Artillery). The legislature has passed a law that all men between sixteen and fifty-five must enlist. Emory Warren Ross Photograph Collection
The Emory Warren Ross Photograph Collections consists of 14 photographs of Liberia and the Belgian Congo during the Disciplines of Christ missions by the missionary, Rev. Dr. Emory Warren Ross. Due to the size of the collection, it was split into two series representing the two missions in which he worked. Series A covers Rev. Dr. Ross\u27 time in Liberia where he provided aid from 1912-1916. The majority of the photographs found in this collection are from his time in Liberia. Series B, which only contains two photographs, are from his time spent in the Belgian Congo, which he visited briefly from 1915-1916 and spend many years afterwards, (1917-1933) further assisting Africans during the Disciples of Christ Congo Mission
