Alternative fuels in heavy-duty truck transport for a sustainable future: A study assessing the feasibility ranking of hydrogen, battery electric, biodiesel HVO and LNG powered trucks in European heavy-duty transport when a JIT/JIS supply chain strategy is applied
Since the last decade, climate change and environmental awareness has received increasingly more attention from politicians and companies. In order to preserve earth’s climate, a lot has to be changed in current industry standards. In 2018, heavy-duty road transport was responsible for 680 million tonnes kg in transported commodities in the Netherlands (CBS, 2019). This resulted in 10.176 million tonnes of emitted CO2 in the same year (CBS, 2020). As these transportation activities are a big part of the current pollution, there is a lot to be gained in this area. Therefore, industries are investigating to make their transportation activities more sustainable.Large manufacturing plants often apply specific supply chain strategies in order to reduce waste. One of those wastes are warehousing costs. Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-in-Sequence (JIS) are supply chain strategies that aim to reduce these costs (Bányai & Bányai, 2017). A JIT supply chain strategy refers to a strategy where commonly used parts are delivered at the plant when needed, therefore reducing storage capacity. A JIS strategy goes even further. When products are customizable, a JISstrategy ensures that the required parts are delivered in the sequence of production.Upon till now, a lot has been researched with regard to alternative fuels in heavy-duty transport, especially in the hydrogen and battery electric area. However, these studies often stay on a general logistics level. Specific concepts such as JIT and JIS may influence choices for alternative fuels due to more important time constraints such as a predefined and strict pearl chain horizon. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to research the feasiblity ranking of alternative fuels (hydrogen, battery electric, HVO and LNG) in a JIT/JIS supply chain.Management of Technology (MoT
Response estimation for a floating bridge using acceleration output only
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration is reviewing the possibility of using floating bridges as fjord crossings. The dynamic behaviour of very long floating bridges with novel designs are prone to uncertainties. Studying the dynamic behaviour of existing bridges is valuable for understanding the in-situ performance. We present a case study of the Bergsøysund Bridge, a 840 m long floating pontoon bridge located in Norway. An extensive monitoring system is installed on the bridge, including a network of accelerometers. A finite element model of the bridge is established. Using the measured acceleration output and recently developed Kalman filter based methods (a joint input-state (JIS) estimation algorithm and a dual Kalman filter (DKF)), we estimate accelerations at unmeasured locations. It is shown that the estimated response from the DKF agrees well with direct reference measurements. For the JIS, numerical instabilities in the estimates occur due to ill-conditioning of the matrices used in the system inversion.Offshore Engineerin
Pengaruh Heat Input dan Variasi Komposisi Shielding Gas terhadap Struktur Mikro dan Sifat Mekanik Sambungan Baja Karbon Rendah JIS G3101 Hasil Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Sebagai Aplikasi Arm Excavator di PT. X
=================================================================================================================================
JIS G3101 SS400 is one of the most widely used structural steel in construction. In the process of steel welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is the most widely used welding technique that uses CO2 and Argon as a gas as a protector from oxidation. Variation in the value of welding heat input also affect the weld results. Carbon steel material will experience structural and grain changes and mechanical properties due to the effects of heating and cooling to welding. Referring to the description above, the author examines the influence of heat input and composition of shielding gas on the microstructure and mechanical properties of JIS G3101 SS400 welded joints. The heat inputs to be studied are 620, 720 and 740 J / mm. While the composition of shielding gas used is 100% CO2, 80% CO2 + 20% Ar. From the test results, it was found that for the hardness and impact strength of shielding gas 80% CO2 + 20% Ar had better results for the tensile than on shielding gas 100% CO2
Positioning the Journal of ICT Standardisation
Next to the Journal of ICT Standardisation (JIS), three other scientific journals exist that address ICT standardisation. In previous papers we have analysed two of these, International Journal of IT Standards and Standardization Research and Computer Standards and Interfaces, in the form of a citation analysis. In this analysis the main issue was to analyze to which extent the journals have a technical or a non-technical focus. This paper adds the analysis of the third journal: IEEE Communications Magazine. JIS itself is too young to already do such an analysis for. However, building on the analysis of the three other journals we discuss the current and possible future positioning of the JIS. We conclude that JIS can position itself as the journal that provides practitioners with comprehensive insights of ICT standardization based on sound academic research

Dear Readers,
It is our pleasure to announce our publication of Volume 4, Issue 2 November 2020. It is our
aim to bring the multi-interdisciplinary subjects into one platform within which the Journal of
Interdisciplinary Sciences (JIS) has successfully published various papers related to different
disciplinary areas in our previous four volumes with eight issues. Within these issues,
numerous research papers reflecting multi-interdisciplinary subjects have published. In this
publication Volume 4, Issue 2, November 2020, we have again attempted to integrate
research/scientific papers from various subject areas. This accumulates scientific papers from
the areas of psychology, research methodology, political sciences, and economics. The JIS
wishes to thank the author(s) and the reviewers for making this issue successful in
publication.
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Sciences (JIS) receives number of manuscripts submission
for publication consideration. For this Volume 4, Issue 2, November 2020, more than twenty
manuscripts were submitted by authors from different disciplines. Among these submitted
manuscripts only five were accepted after peer review, other submitted manuscripts were
rejected during initial screening, editorial reviews and some were rejected during the peer
review process. The JIS follows strict guidelines of Publication Ethic and Malpractices
(PEMS), in regard to this, one of the manuscripts which was accepted after peer review had
to be forcefully removed from publication after the completion of paper layout design, it was
due to the journal’s PEMS guidelines. It is highly advisable to all author(s) to follow the
publication ethic. It is a moral duty of an author(s) to practice publication ethic- submitting
the same manuscript to more than one journal while the paper is in the review process is
considered as malpractice and is an offence to publication ethics, which can/may also be
considered as a Publication Dysfunctional Behavioural Practices (PDBP).
Our next issue will be published in May 2021 for which we invite researchers, managers,
leaders, scientists, students and others for paper submission. The call for paper submission is
also announced in the journal’s announcement portal
http://journalofinterdisciplinarysciences.com/announcement/.
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Sciences (JIS) is an open access, which offers free
submissions, free publication and free open access to download its published research paper
from the journal’s website http://journalofinterdisciplinarysciences.com/.

Petrogenetic re-examination of spinel + quartz assemblage in the Larsemann Hills, East Antarctica
We present textural evidence of spinel (low-Zn) and quartz from two samples of quartzofeldspathic rocks from the Larsemann Hills, East Antarctica. The present occurrence is unusual for the fact that the direct grain contact is preserved unlike most other occurrences where these two phases are separated by reaction products during retrograde and/or prograde metamorphic stages. Textural features further indicate that Ti-biotite was part of the prograde assemblage that underwent partial melting to produce spinel. The maximum temperature estimated from the rock is 870 °C. Monazite grains are abundant in the rock and these are mostly homogeneous in terms of U, Th and Pb distribution. In situ U–Th-total Pb EPMA data of these monazite yield a group age of 527 ± 8 Ma. Textural and geochronological data match with the second (M2) stage of metamorphism of the Larsemann Hills region as evident from the existing geological record. Although spinel and quartz was considered to be a part of peak M2 assemblage in earlier studies, preservation of their grain contact is enigmatic. We consider the grain contact metastable and its preservation possibly resulted from significant overstepping of cooling reaction due to fast reaction kinetics.journal articl
