Ihsan dan Budaya Kerja dari Perspektif Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin
Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin bermaksud rahmat bagi alam semesta. Kerahmatan merupakan nikmat yang Allah berikan atas sesuatu yang dilakukan. Pengertian kerahmatan Allah boleh diolah melalui konsep Ihsan dalam organisasi kerja. Justeru, kertas kerja ini mempunyai beberapa objektif, iaitu: 1) Mengupas Ihsan (kesempurnaan atau kecemerlangan) sebagai salah satu konsep dalam gagasan Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin dalam konteks budaya kerja; 2) Mengenalpasti faktor penyumbang kepada Ihsan dalam organisasi kerja; dan 3) Membina garis panduan yang menggunapakai Ihsan sebagai budaya kerja dalam organisasi kerja

The book presents the findings of the Ministry of Higher Education Tracer Study for the 2013 IIUM graduates. The TS2013 investigates the performance of IIUM graduates in the job market, their employability and employment status, as well as their evaluation of the general academic programmes and university facilities. For the year 2013, the study traced both the first-degree graduates and the post-graduates of the 29th convocation. A total fo 2093 graduates responded the questionnaires distributed before the convocation. Most of the respondents were Malaysians (83%) while 11.7% were international graduates from 53 different countries
An exploratory research on the attitudes of parents-workers in sending their children to childcare/pre-education centres
Modern parents-workers today contribute to the survival and maintenance of their households. However, work-life-balance is always their perennial issue. This research explores the attitudes of parents-workers in handling the childcare/pre-education centres issues. Do they feel indifferent in their decision and action as long as there are people or bodies that able to mind their children while they are away at work? Or do they find in-house domestic helpers sufficiently adequate to do so? The research is a quantitative research project using questionnaire to 558 working parents-workers who work in Cheras, Gombak and Shah Alam areas. It is concluded that parents-workers incline to have a convenient attitude in sending their children to childcare/pre-education centres as long as they are cared while they are away at work. The result is definitely distressing. The research consequently recommends to induce in communitarian commitment of parents-workers and employers, with the help of the Government, by setting an integrated childcare/pre-education centres within the community that may reduce their dependency on in-house domestic helpers, if any
Female professionals at work and home: a clash of priority
This article attempts to understand the experiences of female professionals at home and workplaces in Malaysia. The research setting is at PetCo”1. It applies three sociological methods that include participant observation, interview and questionnaires, which involved 259 questionnaire respondents and 34 interviewees. The study found that even though women workers enjoy their employment, they still consider family and home as the priority in life
School-to-work transition challenge: a social profile of young workers in Malaysia
School-to-work transition is indeed a confusing and difficult period for young people. Youth employability is often hindered by the fact that young people lack the right work attitude required by the employment market. In Malaysia, the age youth is defined as those between 15 and 40 years old (Lee, 2006). However, the particular concern of this research deal with youth at the age of 15 to 24 years old. This stage of life is crucial in determining young peoples’ paths to achieving productive employment and decent work.
