Ana Rodriguez (Class of 2003) was interviewed by India Simmons in the Texana Room of Fondren Library at Southern Methodist University on January 22, 2019. The interview was recorded by India Simmons and Nia Kamau. In her interview, Ms. Rodriguez discusses growing up in Northwest Dallas in a single mother household in an economically depressed neighborhood. She touches on always being considered a minority since her mother was from Lima, Peru and therefore the family had a different accent and cultural background. From a young age Ms. Rodriguez was passionate about not only helping her family but also serving the Latiné community in Dallas. Despite being accepted in Stanford and several other universities, she chose to complete her undergraduate degree at SMU, majoring in Finance. After working at a local law firm and with Bank of America, Ms. Rodriguez now serves as the Director of the Latino Leadership Initiative at SMU Cox School of Business
