Como reinas. Soft power, iconografía y estrategias de representación dinástica de las duquesas de Saboya ( 1559-1597)
Get PDFCotutela, Doctorat internacionalLa presente investigación contrasta las estrategias de representación política de dos duquesas de Saboya: Margarita de Francia (1523-1574), esposa del duque Manuel Filiberto (1528-1580) y Catalina Micaela de Austria (1567-1597), esposa del duque Carlos Manuel I (1562-1630) e hijas respectivamente del rey Francisco I Valois y de Felipe II de Habsburgo. De esta manera pretende explicar y comprender la variedad de formas que dichas estrategias tomaron, desde sus Casas, regidas por el ceremonial de sus dinastías de origen, pasando por la idiosincrasia de la cultura material y los espacios femeninos y cortesanos que habitaron, hasta su reflejo artístico en iconografía variada, como su retratística. Además de todo ello, se presta atención a sus actividades políticas y al mecenazgo a través de su correspondencia y otras fuentes archivísticas. Así, los resultados permitirán entender cómo el ducado de Saboya se convirtió en un Estado clave para los equilibrios geopolíticos del norte de Italia, el reino de Francia y la Monarquía hispánica en las fechas posteriores a la firma del tratado de Cateau-Cambrésis (1559), al tiempo que se explica la consolidación política de la dinastía Saboya poniendo de relieve el dinámico papel que jugaron en ella sus consortes. Palabras clave: Saboya, Iconografía, Soft-power, Queenship, Historia de las mujeres, Cultura material, Antropología política, corte, retratística, fiesta, ceremonial, Etiqueta, exequias fúnebres, Renacimiento, Barroco.The current research examines the various strategies of political representation of two duchesses of Savoy: Margaret of France (1523-1574) married to Duke Emmanuel-Philibert (1528-1580) and Catherine Michelle of Austria (1567-1579), married to Duke Charles-Emmanuel I (1562-1630). They were both daughters of the king Francis I of France and the King Philipp II of Spain, respectively. While contrasting and understanding their individual strategies of representation is intended to mark the various ways these acquired – from their households, their ceremonial or ettiquete to their material culture and iconography- and explain the evolution of female queenship in the Duchy of Savoy from 1559 to 1597. Additionally, attention is paid to their political activities and patronage through their correspondence and other archival sources to obtain a global visión of them, as political personae. The conclusions of this contrast analysis will allow to comprehend how the Duchy of Savoy became a key State between the geopolitical balances of North-Italy, the kingdom of France and the Hispanic Monarchy after the Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis (1559) while revealing the dynamic role played on it by their duchesses. Mariana de Austria: the ideal bride and saviour of the Habsburg Monarchy
No full textMariana de Austria, queen of Spain, played a fundamental role in the last reign of the Habsburg dynasty in Spain, as the wife of Felipe IV and mother of Carlos II. On the other side, Ferdinand I is depicted, with the emperors Albrecht I and Friedrich III, with their respective devices. The examples discussed in this chapter demonstrate the importance which the display of genealogies, of whatever kind, including those used in entry festivals, acquired under the Habsburgs. All the instances cited of series of dynastic portraits used either for Mariana's wedding festivities or to underpin her regency demonstrate that a clear visual strategy was deployed by the dynasty and its apologists. The Habsburgs deployed genealogies or sequential lists of rulers in a variety of contexts and plastic forms. The wedding of Margarete and Felipe III, along with that of Felipe’s half-sister, the infanta Isabel Clara Eugenia, to the archduke Albrecht VII, took place in Valencia

Curs acadèmic: 2017/2018Este TFG se inicia con un contexto histórico de Florencia durante la segunda mitad del siglo XV, haciendo hincapié en su estructura social, política y económica para dar paso al nuevo movimiento artístico que se estaba gestando, el Renacimiento. Una vez repasadas las bases sociales y artísticas de Florencia, el siguiente punto a analizar será el papel de su gobernador, Lorenzo el Magnífico de Medici. El relato se iniciará con su abuelo, Cosme el Viejo de Medici, para poder comprender cómo la dinastía Medici se asienta en el poder florentino e intentar explicar el porqué de las actuaciones del mismo Lorenzo.
El segundo bloque de este trabajo comienza con el estudio de la obra de Angelo Poliziano, la Stanzie de messer Angelo Poliziano cominciate per la giostra del magnifico Giuliano di Pietro de Medici; una obra que tiene su origen en 1475 con la Giostra di Giuliano y que servirá, pocos años más tarde, como fuente de inspiración para el artista florentino Sandro Botticelli, como aquí se pretende demostrar. La narrativa proseguirá con un estudio más exhaustivo de la vida y obra del mencionado artista, Sandro Botticelli, y la posible influencia que tiene en él Simonetta Cattaneo, musa por excelencia de diversos artistas florentinos de este periodo.
Dentro de este segundo bloque se analizará, minuciosamente, la obra Adoración de los Magos, de 1475, con la intención de esclarecer cuáles son los personajes que aparecen en el cuadro, además de su recorrido histórico. Ambos temas han sido objeto de estudio en diversas ocasiones por historiadores del arte especialistas pero sin llegar a una conclusión unánime.
Finalizará este TFG con una conclusión donde, de manera sintetizada, se resumirán los puntos clave que aquí se han repasado; además, se presentarán diversas hipótesis, aportando pruebas sobre algunas obras de Sandro Botticelli, así como de su vida, para una futura investigación.This TFG begins with a historical context of Florence during the second half of the fifteenth century, emphasizing its social, political and economic structure to make way for the new artistic movement that was brewing, the Renaissance. Once the social and artistic bases of Florence have been reviewed, the next point to be analyzed will be the role of its governor, Lorenzo the Magnificent of Medici. The story will begin with his grandfather, Cosimo the Elder of Medici, to understand how the Medici dynasty is based on Florentine power and try to explain why Lorenzo's actions.
The second block of this work begins with the study of the work of Angelo Poliziano, the Stanze de Messer Angelo Poliziano cominciate per the giostra of the magnificent Giuliano di Pietro de Medici; a work that has its origin in 1475 with the Giostra di Giuliano and that will serve, a few years later, as a source of inspiration for the Florentine artist Sandro Botticelli, as it is intended here to demonstrate. The narrative will continue with a more exhaustive study of the life and work of the aforementioned artist, Sandro Botticelli, and the possible influence of Simonetta Cattaneo, muse par excellence of various Florentine artists of this period.
Within this second block will be analyzed, carefully, the work Adoration of the Magi, of 1475, with the intention of clarifying which are the characters that appear in the painting, in addition to its historical course. Both subjects have been the object of study on several occasions by specialist art historians but without reaching a unanimous conclusion.
Finalize this TFG with a conclusion where, in a summarized way, the key points that have been reviewed here will be summarized; In addition, various hypotheses will be presented, providing evidence on some works of Sandro Botticelli, as well as his life, for future research

In this technological framework, dedicated to educate users on a particular point or field, we find serious games. Games, which are developed separately from classic games to provide incentive of education or training for the users to use them, in addition to the funny experience of a classic game.
This project starts from another Final Grade Project named “Joc seriós per a l’Ensenyament de Fonaments D’informàtica”, developed by a colleague of this grade, David Gómez Casas.
Specifically, this project is addressed to analysing and improving the usability of a serious game as a result of the previous project, named VirtualPC.
This project is focused on supporting education for the students of the Faculty of “Biblioteconomia i Documentació” at the University of Barcelona, where the director of this project, Inamculada Rodriguez, teaches a course on TIC, this being the course in which the game would be introduced, in the academic
year 2014-2015.
For the development of this project it has also been created a Web Application in order to help the teacher in the subject in which will used to manage the results of their students

Desde un enfoque iconológico, se examina cómo ambas figuras fueron construidas simbólicamente bajo un ideario eurocéntrico. Más allá de su papel histórico, la investigación estudia sus imágenes como representaciones fronterizas y transformadoras que legitimaron un modelo hegemónico y proyectaron sobre el cuerpo femenino los ideales y temores de la cultura dominante. El análisis abarca desde códices y grabados hasta obras decimonónicas, revelando cómo el arte actuó a modo de dispositivo ideológico. La tesis, dividida en dos tomos, propone una lectura crítica que entiende las imágenes como procesos vivos de reinterpretación, evidenciando las tensiones entre poder, género y alteridad en la construcción simbólica de ambas figuras.The study examines how the continuity and variation of visual and literary elements developed between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries consolidated the stereotype of the "collaborationist Indigenous woman", embodied by Malinche and Pocahontas. From an iconological perspective, it explores the ways in which both figures were symbolically constructed within a Eurocentric framework. Beyond their historical roles, the research emphasizes their images as liminal and transformative representations that legitimized a hegemonic model and projected the dominant culture’s ideals and anxieties onto the female body.
