Well-posedness in vector optimization and scalarization results
No full textIn this paper, we give a survey on well-posedness notions of Tykhonov's type for vector optimization problems and the links between them with respect to the classification proposed by Miglierina, Molho and Rocca in [33]. We consider also the notions of extended well-posedness introduced by X.X. Huang ([19],[20]) in the nonparametric case to complete the hierchical structure characterizing these concepts. Finally we propose a review of some theoretical results in vector optimization mainly related to different notions of scalarizing functions, linear and nonlinear, introduced in the last decades, to simplify the study of various well-posedness properties.

This need not be the case, and here we highlight velocity-dependent radiation pressure terms that have their origins in the mixing of s and p polarizations brought about by the Lorentz transformation between the lab and the material rest frame, rather than in the corresponding transformation of frequency and wavevector. The theory we develop may be relevant to the nano-optomechanics of moving bodies
Il Crocifisso tunicato di Rocca Soraggio e la diffusione dell’iconografia del Volto Santo di Lucca nella Toscana del Duecento
No full textNel contesto di uno studio multidisciplinare sul crocifisso tunicato conservato a Rocca Soraggio, piccolo centro appenninico toscano, effettuato in occasione del suo restauro, il saggio affronta il problema dell'origine e della funzione del manufatto. In particolare, la scelta dell'inconsueta iconografia del Cristo tunicato accomuna l'opera in esame al celebre prototipo costituito dal Volto Santo di Lucca e la va a inserire quindi nel complesso quadro interpretativo di tale tipologia di immagine sacra. La posizione geografica e il contesto storico-culturale di quest'opera sono poi qui richiamati per offrire l'ipotesi di una ragione politica e soprattutto devozionale alla base della scelta operata. Il crocifisso di Rocca Soraggio si sarebbe trovato infatti all'arrivo di uno dei percorsi della via Francigena in Toscana, lungo una strada che conduceva a Lucca, e avrebbe così dovuto introdurre alla visita del venerato prototipo rivelandone l'aspetto e anticipando per il pellegrino la visione del crocifisso lucchese. Proprio nei decenni centrali del Duecento cui l'opera di Soraggio appartiene, esso sarebbe gradualmente divenuto emblema della città e del suo territorio, motivando episodi di ripresa e citazione a distanza ai confini dell'area di influenza lucchese, di cui questo manufatto costituisce uno dei primissimi esempi
The sealing efficiency of cap rocks – laboratory tests and an empirical correlation
No full textOne of the major concern for the gas sequestration/storage feasibility in natural underground formations is the assessment of the sealing efficiency of the low-permeable sequences overlying potential storage formations.The sealing efficiency is quantified via the threshold pressure and/or residual pressure difference parameters; the experimental laboratory procedures for their evaluation have been widely investigate by the oil and gas industry at least from the fifteens of the last century. In order to evaluate the effect of adopted lab procedures, the present paper collects, categorizes and analyzes experimental data from the technical literature, investigating representative lithologies, via N2 brine fluid system, in reservoir thermodynamic condition. The analyses show an satisfactory coherence and consistency of data for a range of permeability of [10^2-10^5] nDarcy, independently from the adopted lab procedures. Data scattering for higher or lower permeability values seems to be more case sensitive rather than attributed to the adopted procedure or the investigated lithology. Furthermore, the empirical correlation byThomas et al. (1968) was verified on the bases of the collected data. Even if the equation was derived only from standard test measurements on a limited number of lithologies, it turns out to be a reliable predictive approach for the identification, at least, of the order of magnitude of the threshold pressure (or the residual pressure difference) if only absolute permeability values are availlable
