Edgeworth Expansions for Semiparametric Averaged Derivatives - (Now published in Econometrica, 68 (2000), pp.931-979.)

A valid Edgeworth expansion is established for the limit distribution of density-weighted semiparametric averaged derivative estimates of single index models. The leading term that corrects the normal limit varies in magnitude, depending on the choice of bandwidth and kernel order. In general this term has order larger than the n -½ that prevails in standard parametric problems, but we find circumstances in which it is O(n -½), thereby extending the achievement of an n -½ Berry-Essen bound in Robinson (1995). A valid empirical Edgeworth expansion is also established. We also provide theoretical and empirical Edgeworth expansions for a studentized statistic, where the correction terms are different from those for the unstudentized case. We report a Monte Carlo study of finite sample performance.Edgeworth expansion, semiparametric estimates, averaged derivatives

ROBINSON-SCHENSTED CORRESPONDENCE FOR THE G-VERTEX COLORED PARTITION ALGEBRA

    No full text
In this paper, we develop the Robinson-Schensted correspondence for the G-vertex colored partition algebras, which gives the bijection between the set of G-vertex colored partition diagrams Pk(n, G) and the pairs of [Formula: see text]-vacillating tableaux of shape λ, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] where Γk= {µ ⊢ m|0 ≤ m ≤ k}, Ψq= {λ | λ = (q - j, 1j), j = 0, 1,…, q - 1} and G is a cyclic group of order q. We also derive the Knuth relations for the G-vertex colored partition algebra by using the Robinson-Schensted correspondence for the [Formula: see text]-vacillating tableau of shape [Formula: see text].</jats:p

    29. Amblyomma crassum Robinson, 1926. A Neotropical species known only to parasitize Testudines: Testudinidae. M: unknown; see note below F: Robinson (1926) N: unknown L: unknown Redescriptions F: Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957), Voltzit (2007); see note below Note: Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) illustrated what they believed to be the male of Amblyomma crassum, but Fairchild et al. (1966) held that this description probably refers to Amblyomma sabanerae, and the male described by Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) is not included above. Guglielmone et al. (2003) noted that Méndez Arocha and Ortiz (1957) figured the female of Amblyomma crassum but that it differs from the original description by Robinson (1926). See also Amblyomma humerale for its probable confusion with Amblyomma crassum and Amblyomma sabanerae.Published as part of Guglielmone, Alberto A., Petney, Trevor N. & Robbins, Richard G., 2020, Ixodidae (Acari: Ixodoidea): descriptions and redescriptions of all known species from 1758 to December 31, 2019, pp. 1-322 in Zootaxa 4871 (1) on pages 89-90, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4871.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/442334

    Amblyomma pilosum in Robinson 1926

    99. Amblyomma pilosum Neumann, 1899. A Neotropical species, all stages of which are known only to parasitize Testudines: Testudinidae. M: Keirans et al. (1973) F: Neumann (1899) N: Keirans et al. (1973) L: Keirans et al. (1973) Redescriptions F: Keirans et al. (1973), Voltzit (2007); see note below M: Voltzit (2007); see note below N: none L: none Note: see Amblyomma boulengeri for its alleged synonymy with Amblyomma pilosum. Keirans et al. (1973) explain that Santos Dias (1958a) and Robinson (1926) confused the type of Amblyomma pilosum with a female specimen later described as Amblyomma macfarlandi. Keirans and Hillyard (2001) also state that the description of the female of Amblyomma pilosum in Robinson (1926) corresponds, in fact, to Amblyomma macfarlandi. The redescriptions of the male and female of Amblyomma pilosum in Voltzit (2007) contain illustrations of the coxal spurs and hypostomal dentition that differ from the corresponding illustrations in Keirans et al. (1973).Published as part of Guglielmone, Alberto A., Petney, Trevor N. & Robbins, Richard G., 2020, Ixodidae (Acari: Ixodoidea): descriptions and redescriptions of all known species from 1758 to December 31, 2019, pp. 1-322 in Zootaxa 4871 (1) on page 115, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4871.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/442334

A Region Adjacency Tree Approach to the Detection and Design of Fiducials.

    No full text
We report a topological approach to fiducial recognition for real-time applications. Independence from geometry makes the system tolerant to severe distortion, and allows encoding of extra information. The method is based on region adjacency trees. After describing the mathematical foundations, we present a set of simulations to evaluate the algorithm and optimise the fiducial design
