Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full textThis work aims at studying the mechanisms by which firms belonging to traditional low and medium tech sectors absorb radical new technologies. By means of a coevolutionary analysis we highlight how the technological upgrade of a productive system is the result of the interaction among local actors. The case study of the industrial mechanical district of Reggio Emilia is investigated. The district partially evolved in the technological cluster of mechatronics, and led to the constitution of the Faculty of Mechatronics Engineering in the same province. The analysis shows how the university on the one hand has been instituted to answer the local firms' needs, and on the other hand how it influenced the evolution of the technological capabilities of the local productive system. The analysis leads to some important policy implications
Ex Vivo Loading of Autologous Dendritic Cells with Tumor Antigens
No full textEx vivo-generated antigen-loaded dendritic cells (DC) have been shown to be immunogenic in patients with cancer. Loading DC with autologous whole tumor antigens is a strategy to arm DC against tumor without human leukocyte antigen (HLA) restriction. Furthermore, this approach allows the presentation of a full antigen range to the immune system. Finestre sulla soggettività. Monadi, intersoggettività e corpo tra Husserl e Merleau-Ponty
No full textIl presente lavoro indaga l’incontro, il dialogo e la contaminazione della monadologia leibniziana nella fenomenologia. Vengono analizzate sia le motivazioni teoretico-fenomenologiche che hanno spinto il fenomenologo tedesco a reintrodurre la nozione di monade e la conseguente via intersoggettiva che ha permesso di ottenere un grado di oggettività più solido, attraverso la “res publica” delle monadi o il loro accordo armonico, sia le criticità presenti nella lettura husserliana. Inoltre, il discorso viene inquadrato alla luce del confronto con Merleau-Ponty, il quale offre una prospettiva ulteriore sulla ripresa leibniziana all’interno della fenomenologia, mettendo in evidenza le tensioni tra la dimensione monadica e l’esperienza incarnata. L’obiettivo è di far notare che la Monadenlehre si sviluppa su un piano di immanenza teoretica e storica, a differenza della filosofia leibniziana. In tal modo, i pensieri del filosofo di Lipsia, sedimentati nella riflessione fenomenologica, tornano a rivivere avviando una nuova generatività spirituale
