Lógica, afectividad y valores. La teoría del juicio de H. Rickert y su recepción crítica en la obra temprana de Martin Heidegger

    No full text
In his professorship dissertation, Der Erkenntnis der Gegenstand, published in 1892, H. Rickert makes a comparison between judgments and sentiments. In this paper the central aim is to reconstruct the argument that founds such a comparison. In the first part I will discuss the main arguments of Rickert’s thesis. In the second one, I will show the critical reception of Rickert’s thought in M. Heidegger’s hermeneutic phenomenology.Fil: Bertorello, Mario Adrián. Seasonal variations in surface metabolite composition of Fucus vesiculosus sampled at outer Kiel Fjord (August 2012 - July 2013)

The chemical composition of surface associated metabolites of two Fucus species (Fucus vesiculosus and Fucus serratus) was analysed by means of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to describe temporal patterns in chemical surface composition. Method: The two perennial brown macroalgae F. vesiculosus and F. serratus were sampled monthly at Bülk, outer Kiel Fjord, Germany (54°27'21 N / 10°11'57 E) over an entire year (August 2012 - July 2013). Per month and species six non-fertile Fucus individuals were collected from mixed stands at a depth of 0.5 m under mid water level. For surface extraction approx. 50 g of the upper 5-10 cm apical thalli tips were cut off per species. The surface extraction of Fucus was performed according to the protocol of de Nys and co-workers (1998) with minor modifications (see Rickert et al. 2015). GC/EI-MS measurements were performed with a Waters GCT premier (Waters, Manchester, UK) coupled to an Agilent 6890N GC equipped with a DB-5 ms 30 m column (0.25 mm internal diameter, 0.25 mM film thickness, Agilent, USA). The inlet temperature was maintained at 250°C and samples were injected in split 10 mode. He carrier gas flow was adjusted to 1 ml min-1. Alkanes were used for referencing of retention times. Impact evaluation of food safety regulations: A review of quantitative methods

    No full text
Recently regulatory evaluation performed by the European Commission has been reviewed in response to the call for more evidence-based policy making and “Better Regulation”, which requires instruments to support the adoption of more effective and efficient regulations, as well as an improved coordination of policy interventions across the economic, social and environmental dimensions (European Commission, 2002). At the same time, there is a demand for clarity in the methods used to evaluate the impacts of regulations. While there is an ongoing debate on the methodological frameworks that are or could be used to assess the overall impact of regulations, our focus here is on the quantitative techniques that measure the economic effects and estimate the monetary values of non-market effects. This is especially relevant in policy areas like that of food safety, where a wide variety of alternative techniques are used to measure the same impact, often with very different or even conflicting results. Food safety regulations generate different effects to different economic actors along the food chain, covering more than a policy area, like health protection, competition, trade and environment. The aim of this study is to review and discuss the quantitative methodologies applied to assess the socio-economic impacts of food safety regulations in a selection of studies found in the literature available to date1. The paper is structured as follows. First, we propose a classification of potential impacts relevant in food safety regulations, based on the European Commission Impact Assessment Guidelines (2005). Then, we associate each impact with the methodologies used in the literature. An overview of the methodologies is presented, highlighting strengths and weaknesses; methodologies not currently used but potentially exploitable in food safety regulatory assessments are briefly described. In the fourth section, we add further information about the evaluation studies, by specifying stage of assessment, level of analysis, type of data required, and geographical scope of analysis. Final considerations conclude the review

Contribution to an Integrated Analytical Framework for the Study of the Relations between and within Agro-food Firms

Summary The differences in size, culture and technology that characterise the agro-food firms contribute to make collaborative horizontal and vertical relationships difficult. This negatively influences the supply chains performances. The goal of this study is to contribute to the understanding of the inter- and intra-firms relationships dynamics, in particular the definition of the main variables influencing successful collaborative relationships. A survey on the literature related to Supply Chain Management, local businesses systems (firms cluster, districts), Knowledge Networks, Organisation theory (Human Resource Management, Resource Based View, Culture Organization, Psychological contract) was performed. The main factors influencing the relationship among members and business areas, within the firm, those influencing the inter-firms relationship, and the firm relationship with the economic, social and institutional environment, have been identified. Starting from a classification of these factors, according to their different analytical contexts and theoretical approaches, a logical framework was created. Sustainability and relationships performance emerged as the main latent construct defined by a mix of the variables trust, commitment, satisfaction and collaboration; the nature and role of these variables were analysed, following recent research contributions (Fischer, C., Hartmann, M., Reynolds, N., Leat, P., Revoredo-Giha, C., Henchion, M., Gracia, A. (2008), (Fritz M., Martino G., Surci G,2008). A new hypothesis was formulated, including elements not considered by the previous research contributions, on the factors influencing the variables defining the main latent construct. Three variables were considered: • KSA (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): latent construct observable through the measurement of five variables: conflict resolution, communication, collaborative problem solving, goal setting and performance management, planning and task coordination (Stevens M.J., Campion M.A., 1994); • Psychological contract: variable influencing the members’ relationship within the firm (Rousseau, 1990); • Human Resource Management: observed by analysing the technical and strategic effectiveness of the Human resource management policies and the human resources capabilities (Huselid M.A., Schuler R.S., 1997). The relationship sustainability will be analysed within different organisations cultures characterising the human resources, the business areas, and the whole of the firm. This will become the context within which our hypothesis on the role of the above mentioned variables will be tested. Future research development should broaden the literature survey on the theoretical framework adding other approaches related mostly to the field of sociology and psychology; from the methodological point of view, the structural equation model (SEM) seems to be the most appropriate analytical tool. The many qualitative variables implied in the theoretical model should be correctly measured in order to be used in a SEM; to this end the literature on measurement scales definition and their relevance for the different types of statistical analysis tool should be examined

A LP model to manage the agro-energy system

    No full text
The interaction between private and public objectives may be a source of conflict in case the farmers decide to produce energy, many factors must be taken into account: i) induced instability of the agricultural commodity market and consequent risk due to wider price fluctuations; ii) domestic political decisions concerning the prices of crops and incentives; iii) environmental conservation and natural resources policy; iv) efficiency of agrifood and agro-energy chain and management of information; v) other factors related to the social condition or status of farmers as security, quality of life. (Lansink O., 2006). These considerations suggest the policy makers to take into account the opportunity to formulate strategies that best conciliate these conflicting interests by searching a compromise. (Dodgson et al. 2000; Voogd 1982), Weeler and Russel (1977) Different solutions have been tempted by introducing several goals in the farm decision making: gross margin, minimum seasonal cash exposure, stable employment, ecological impact, quality of natural resource conservation. For the farm planning problem, the decision maker, according with his own preferences, will set up a ranking of some preferred attributes to be included in the objective functio
