    This collection consists of an address titled, The Sense of the Beautiful- An Address Delivered by W. Gilmore Simms, Before the Charleston County Agricultural and Horticultural Association (Now the Agricultural Society of South Carolina) May 3, 1870 by William Gilmore Simms (1806-1870). In his address Simms discusses: “The uses and the beauties of all things in Nature exist chiefly in our susceptibilities.
