No full textIn this memoir, I present and discuss my production of self-portraits with race and gender
relations as the central axis for the problematization of poetic creation. Using the
autoethnography method to investigate my relationship with my image and how it has changed
over time, I approach my artistic process from perceptions and experiences, discussed here from
theorists such as bell hooks, Griffin, Neusa Santos, Kabengele Munanga, which enabled me to
understand the importance of my production beyond an individual issue, but as a situation that
is shared and felt in an expanded way in our society. From this point, I understood that the study
of the self-portrait can be used in the education of children, especially black children,
strengthening their self-esteem, starting from the hypothesis that the self-portrait goes beyond
the image captured by itself, but is also in other types of artistic creations, understanding that
they are not unique experiences, but shared, thus being a place of self-affirmation of differences
and new possibilities of life in the difference.No presente memorial, apresento e discuto minha produção de autorretratos tendo como eixo
central para a problematização da criação poética, as relações de raça e gênero. Utilizando o
método da autoetnografia para investigar minha relação com minha imagem e como ela foi se
modificando ao longo do tempo, vou abordando meu processo artístico a partir de percepções
e vivências, aqui discutidas a partir de teóricas como bell hooks, Griffin, Neusa Santos,
Kabengele Munanga, Zora Neale Hurston, entre outros, que me possibilitaram entender a
importância de minha produção pra além de uma questão individual, mas como situação que
são compartilhadas e sentidas da forma expandida em nossa sociedade. A partir desse ponto,
entendi que o estudo do autorretrato pode ser utilizado na educação das crianças, principalmente
de crianças negras, reforçando a sua autoestima, partindo da hipótese de que o autorretrato vai
além da imagem capturada por si, mas está também em outros tipos de criações artísticas,
entendendo que não são vivências únicas, mas compartilhadas, sendo assim um lugar de
autoafirmação de diferenças e de novas possibilidades de vida na diferença
