No full textThe author describes the place of the daric in the development of the coinage of Sardes, and links its weight with that of the Babylonian shekel of Darius I. He explores the question of exchange between the earlier electrum and the gold and silver issues struck at Sardes under the Persians, suggesting that there was a significant fall in the value of silver over the second half of the 6th. Century BC.L'auteur étudie la place du darique dans le développement du monnayage à Sardes, et lie son poids avec celui du shekel babylonien de Darius Ier. Il examine le problème de l'échange entre les monnaies en électrum de la période précédente et l'argent monnayé à Sardes à l'époque perse. Studijuojančiųjų socialinio dalyvavimo situacija Lietuvos aukštosiose mokyklose aptariama, vertinant studentų socialinį dalyvavimą studijų laikotarpiu, kaip vieną iš būsimų pedagogų rengimo profesinei veiklai elementų. Remiantis kokybinio tyrimo duomenimis, pateikiamas hipotetinis studentų skatinimo socialiniam dalyvavimui aukštojoje mokykloje modelis, įvertinamos šio modelio taikymo praktikoje galimybės ir kliūtys, skiriami svarbiausi jo elementai. No full textIn Europe, a trend is observed to ensure the quality of all the education system by applying alternative teacher training ways that raise the teacher‘s profession onto a higher level of professionalism; therefore, education is pragmatically increasingly more frequently oriented towards an individual‘s career (self-) education by means of the surrounding social reality. Learning in a university takes place in the process of social interaction, thus, education is evaluated as a totality of conditions for the creative manifestation of an individual‘s innate abilities when he takes over and develops culture, i.e. when he discovers his experience-based space of individualisation. Thus the interaction of social participation and career education becomes a functional approach in the contemporary university life. The aim of the research is theoretical and empirical justification of the gain of prospective teachers‘ social participation in higher school life as strategic guidelines of career (self-) education and, on that basis, the development of a theoretical- hypothetical model On the basis of the research findings, a model of correlation between the gain of students-prospective teachers‘ social participation in higher school life and career (self-) education was developed, whose practical implementation is considered to be a strategy for more effective students‘ involvement in social participation processes in higher school by means of conscious reconstruction of social reality for the implementation of the strategic guidelines of one‘s own career. The systemic theoretical analysis of the present research and the empirical data revealed a scientifically conceptual and empirically expressive correlation between social participation, life, and an individual‘s career
Darius Versus Xerxem: The images of Darius I And Xerxes In Old-Persian texts and in the works of Aeschylus and Herodotus
No full text© The Author(s) 2017. This article considers the development of the images of Persian Kings Darius I and Xerxes in Persia and Ancient Greece. The authors deal with self-representation of these monarchs in their inscriptions as well as perception of them in the ancient tradition represented by Aeschylus and Herodotus. They come to the conclusion that though Darius and Xerxes represented themselves as equals, they were perceived in ancient tradition as contrasting persons. It was most evident in Aeschylus' Persians who idealized Darius and represented Xerxes as the person mainly responsible for all misdeeds and failures of the Persians in their campaign against the Greeks. Herodotus contrasted Xerxes with Darius only on a few specific occasions, so the opposition between two Persian kings in his work is less evident than in Aeschylus' play. At the same time Herodotus' image of Xerxes is much more prejudiced and negative than that of Darius. However, there is a similarity in the representation of both Persian kings by Aeschylus and Herodotus: Darius is depicted as an administrator more than a warrior, Xerxes was a warrior par excellence

No full textIt is not a novelty that the internet and new technologies and their granted possibilities make an impact for a modern society. Thanks to the internet that today we can talk about global, as well as itself internet, internet pirate subculture phenomenon which has become various research object of scientists. Internet pirates are considered copyright infringers who access their activities as the philosophy of freedom approach to all the information. Copying and distributing copyright production without the author’s knowledge is considered as the crime compared to theft, so internet subculture name – pirates, is derived from it. On the specifics of this subculture all participants hide their personalities after a variety of invented names and even communicating with each other. While governments where looking to find the ways to control internet piracy activities, naturally where provoked various resistance movements for freedom approach to all the information. By negative opponents, banned “piracy” would damage human’s right to information, knowledge, information owners would have to filter traffic, prohibit approaches to illegal information and the internet would lose its’ freedom as encompassing whole network or limitless source of information and knowledge function.
