Corrosione sotto sforzo e infragilimento da idrogeno. Esperienze del Dipartimento di Chimica, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica “G. Natta” del Politecnico di Milano
L’interesse del Dipartimento di Chimica, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica “G. Natta” del Politecnico di Milano per i fenomeni di corrosione sotto sforzo, corrosione-fatica e infragilimento da idrogeno nei metalli e per le problematiche ingegneristiche legate a questa famiglia di fenomeni risale almeno agli anni ’70 del secolo scorso. In quel periodo Pietro Pedeferri, Bruno Mazza e Dany Sinigaglia si occuparono, in collaborazione con aziende e centri di ricerca, di alcune delle problematiche più importanti, come la corrosione fatica delle strutture offshore e la corrosione sotto sforzo nell’estrazione e trasporto degli idrocarburi. Il contributo della scuola di Pietro Pedeferri è stato relativo sia all’avanzamento delle conoscenze scientifiche, sia all’innovazione metodologica (applicazioni della meccanica della frattura, della microscopia elettronica ...), sia alla divulgazione. L’attività proseguì nei decenni successivi coinvolgendo anche altri ambiti di ricerca, quali la corrosione delle armature nel calcestruzzo e la sua prevenzione. Nell’articolo sono richiamati anche altri argomenti più specialistici affrontati nei decenni successivi e la collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Meccanica del Politecnico di Milano sul comportamento di diverse classi di acciai in ambienti che promuovono l’assorbimento di idrogeno, iniziata negli anni ‘2000 e che prosegue tuttora

Este texto pretende analizar la relación que se establece entre la organización y la estructuración de los espacios urbanos mediante la arquitectura y el urbanismo, y la homogenización corporal y la exclusión social que se da en las ciudades. Una situación que adquiere unas características especiales gracias a la generalización de una tecnología cibernética capaz de modificar profundamente las relaciones espacio-temporales más cotidianas. Ante esta situación, es altamente significativa la plasmación de geografías disidentes por parte de algunos artistas y arquitectos que posibilitan la creación de espacios más plurales y ambiguos
Kinetics of desorption from heterogeneous surfaces
The desorption kinetics from heterogeneous surfaces contain information on energy heterogeneity. Mathematical methods for extracting the energy distribution function from desorption kinetics are developed. The overall desorption kinetics are described as weighted averages of the local desorption kinetics from each energetically homogeneous zone forming the surface. Whatever the local kinetics, the energy distribution is determined from the overall kinetics by using the condensation approximation. The method is applied to two situations: the time-logarithm law observed in a lot of systems of practical interest in catalysis, and the time-power law observed in many relaxation kinetics of macromolecules

A situation that acquires special traits thanks to the spread of a cyber technology that deeply modifies the most common spatio-temporal relations. Against this background, it is highly significant to find the creation of dissident geographies by some artists and architects who propose more plural and ambiguous space

Women have thus contributed substantially to the evolution of the concept of ‘art’ and its institutions.Why is the feminist movement essential in the definition of today’s public art? What were women artists looking for, what were they escaping from when they experimented with these new trends? What relation does feminist cyberart have with the proposals initiated in the 1970s? Why do artists in this field redefine the concept of authorship?These are some of the questions that shaped the encounter between Toxic Lesbian and the American artist Suzanne Lacy on May 6, 2014, in conjunction with Intermediae Matadero, Madrid. Apocalypse-Calipso
Este ensayo visual es un mash-up de ilustraciones, una crítica cultural compuesta por una concatenación no narrativa de remakes a rotulador de portadas de discos y revistas, fotos de prensa, postales, anuncios y carteles de cine, todos ellos provenientes de las décadas de los 60, 70 y 80, que toma Benidorm como paradigma de la construcción masiva y de la transformación cultural y visual desde el tardofranquismo hasta el s. XXI. El recorrido gráfico conceptualiza un imaginario extractivista que analiza los cambios entre imagen, cultura y petromodernidad derivados del turismo, la globalización, el consumo masivo y el auge lo desechable, el imperio del souvenir y de lo kitsch, o la estética pop y del parque temático, en un entorno cada vez más artificial y menos sostenible. El juego etimológico entre apocalipsis y Calipso (género musical caribeño y ninfa hija del titán Atlas que reinaba en la isla de Ogigia, y hermana por tanto de las Hespérides, las Híades y las Pléyades), propicia, in crescendo, una reflexión entre lo velado y lo revelado, el bikini y el topless, lo idílico y lo contaminado, a través de la profecía retro-futurista de una catástrofe natural acuática pop.Este proyecto es una deriva, en tiempos del COVID-19, de nuestra serie Follarse la Ciudad vol III: We love Benidorm
DDAG K-TIPCAC : an ensemble method for protein subcellular localization
Protein subcellular location prediction is one of the most difficult multiclass prediction problems in modern computational biology.
Many methods have been proposed in the literature to solve this problem, but all the existing approaches are affected by some limitations. In this contribution we propose a novel method for protein subcellular location prediction that performs multiclass classification by combining kernel
classifiers through DDAG. Each base classifier, called K-TIPCAC, projects
the points on a Fisher subspace estimated on the training data by means of a novel technique. Experimental results clearly indicated that DDAG K-TIPCAC performs equally, if not better, than state-of-the-art ensemble methods for protein subcellular location
