Dear Friends:
The Bryant Service Club has been very kind to Bryant men in the service. It is concrete proof that Bryant College remembers its students even after they have been graduated and are many miles away. I doubt if any other College, large or small, can equal the spirit that exist [sic] between the student body and the alumni.
Thank you very much for the cigarettes I received this week.
Sincerely yours Raymond J. Murphy S/Sgt. Raymond J. Murphy [Transcription ends

Dear friends,
This letter is to acknowledge receipt of the cigarettes you sent and to express my gratitude for your thoughtfulness.
I am sure that every Bryant man in the Service appreciates the good work that the Bryant Service Club is doing in our behalf. We are proud of the wonderful success you are achieving in the sale of War Bonds and Stamps.
Many of you will be in the Service yourselves and you will realize what it means to us to be remembered by our old Alma Mater.
Gratefully yours,Raymond J. MurphyClass of ‘41[Transcription ends

Dear Sir:
Please don’t think that I am ungrateful because I didn’t acknowledge receipt of the cigarettes sooner. I was transferred from Camp Lee to Bolling Field. The cigarettes were sent to Camp Lee and had to be sent up here. I just received them today.
Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness. It really is swell to know that the boys in the service are remembered by members of their old Alma Mater.
Gratefully yours Raymond J. Murphy [Transcription ends
